Some people from time to time wonder what Bama helmets would look like white. Here is a video from 1971 with Bama vs USC with white helmets...

I woke up wondering about what they would look like, what a coincidence. When you say people do you mean you?

Why is this considered a Great Historical Moment?

I like the Bama helmets...they are one of the few teams left that have not given up on tradition.

hate white. love crimson. if it changed i would destroy something. i don't know what... but it would be like ... i can't even think of an analogy for how horrible ugly, stupid, and treacherous that would be.

I know our current helmets started in the mid-70s but I think they are the tradition I would like us to maintain. I did like when ours were the same as Bamas -- numbers, but I like the current helmets. I cringe when people start talking about "updating" them. I just ordered my shirts for this year...went completely retro to the same shirts I wore when I was in school from 78 - 82.

No I don't mean me, I knew what they looked like. There have been posts on here talking about Bama having white helmets back in the day and what years they used them and so on. I found this video and thought I would share.

And for what it's worth, I would say maybe one game going with white helmets for a throwback type of thing, but would not want them to become a regular part of the uniform.

Yes, Bama has worn white helmets more recently as well. I want to say they wore them at times under Perkins as well as Curry.

not a good idea.....it would be like taking the "classic" tiger from ours and replacing it with the "updated" version. i hate updating, prefer tradition. (im not a big fan of the current tiger logo btw)

Hype; but it was part of their "Home and Home" agreement, which is significant.

Or perhaps it has something to do with unveiling the wishbone and the beginning of a really dominant decade.
