Yet, AU has a higher win % against Bama

Auburn only has a higher win percentage than the Vols against the cheating tide because they didn’t have to play Wallace Wade and Frank Thomas yearly for almost 20 years

Wait, will we be required to regroup those former players for this Saturday’s contest? If not, those past teams and results don’t mean shite! You think Bama is game planning based on past years?

There have been a number of somewhat intelligent posts in other threads pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the two teams based on the current players and current results. It seems to be a better way to predict the outcome.

Tennessee is 2-16 against Bama since 2007. STFU

Tennessee has beaten Alabama more times than any other team in the country.

2 wins is better than ZERO!

Sit your bitch arse down.

Yet, the point remains. Utk with only 2 wins vs UA since 2007 hasn't helped either. Fwiw

I don't think we should count the Odom years. Doesn't seem fair

Same way a lot of UT fans feel about the Pruitt years. No other coach in UT history has been able to pull off an 8-loss season.

Tennessee has officially had 25 head coaches in the history of the program (including interim HCs). During the stretch between 2012 and 2020, the HCs ranked as follows:

23rd - Derek Dooley - 2010 - 2012
21st - Jeremy Pruitt - 2018 - 2020
16th - Butch Jones - 2013 - 2017

At Tennessee, Josh Heupel is currently sitting at 8th (note that #1 is Jim Chaney, who finished 1-1). In Tennessee's top 10, 3 have coached at UT in the last 20 years (Chaney, Fulmer and Heupel). In the top 15, you add Johnny Majors and Bill Battle. So, if you go through Tennessee's HCs in order, for the last 60 years...they are ranked:

Heupel - 8th
Pruitt - 21st
Jones - 16th
Dooley - 23rd

Kiffin - 17th
Fulmer - 4th
Majors - 11th
Battle - 7th
Dickey - 6th

So, by winning %, Pruitt, Jones, Dooley and Kiffin were the worst coaches that UT has had since Doug Dickey took over in 1964.

In the history of the program, Missouri has had 33 head coaches. Since 2012, they have ranked:

Eli Drinkwitz - 16th
Gary Pinkel - 14th
Bary Odom - 23rd

In Missouri's top coaches by winning %, Dan Devine was the only one in the top 12 that has coached in the last 100 years. Gary Pinkel is the only on in the top 20 that has coached there in the last 40 years. So...going back a similar 60 years like I did for UT, Missouri's coaches would rank.

Drinkwitz - 16th
Odom - 23rd
Pinkel - 14th
Smith - 27th
Stull - 31st
Widenhofer - 32nd
Powers - 17th
Onofrio - 24th
Devine - 7th

So, Pinkel was the 2nd most successful coach since Devine took over in 1958. Drinkwitz is the 3rd most successful and Odom was the 4th best during that time.

Good point. Tennessee has been down for a quarter century, and Missouri hasn't.

In the last 25 seasons, Missouri is 186-122 (60.39%)
In the last 25 seasons, Tennessee is 182-125 (59.28%)

In their "down quarter century", Tennessee is only 1.11% below where Missouri is in what they believe is highly achieving. It took a Dooley, Jones, Pruitt Sandwich to bring them down to Missouri's level.

A wise man once said, "Mizzou has more SECCG appearances than Tennessee since joining. What gives?"

How on Earth does UcheaT explain that one?

I was sitting in Legion Field in B'ham on a Saturday in '75 for Alabama's first game of the season against Missouri, and The Tide got their assed beat 20=7. That was the last time Missouri beat Alabama, and Bama went undefeated for the rest of the year (11-1) to finish 3rd nationally.
DAMN!!...that's been 50 years ago. :
