I doubt it was USC, Riley ran away from SEC. Any guesses?
Also, this at least tells us his long term thinking which is refreshing he wants to keep it regional. Now he just needs to get a bigger TV deal.
For those without X:
SEC's Greg Sankey told @Ourand_Puck the SEC was approached by a West Coast school: "I don’t even have that conversation. I’m the one person who didn’t take away from the Pac-12. If you play any sport in the SEC, you have at most a 2-hour plane ride from Point A to Point B."

If it isn’t UC Davis, I don’t want them.

Does he know that there are multiple SEC schools that are more than a 2 hour flight to another?
Austin to Columbia SC
Austin to ATL/Athens
Norman to Gainsville
Just to name a few
Not advocating for a west coast team in the SEC. Just showing once again that Sankey is a complete joke

But, if you make the trip to A&M, you can pretend like you're in Russia with the architecture while pretending like you're in Mexico around the student body
Then, on Friday nights, they have Drag performances at KY Field

Go back to the year 2000, pick any conference. Now tell me two other schools in said conference with more combined football natties than those 2 shite stains.

Nah, that's what UTranny's campus looks like.
Aggy simply opened a university there

And at Texas you will feel right at home if you're from India.

From DuckDuckGoAI Search Assistant:
The flight from Austin, TX to Columbia, SC typically takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours
A flight from Austin to Atlanta typically takes about 2 hours and 15
The estimated flight time from Oklahoma City (OKC) to Gainesville, FL (GNV) is approximately 2 hours and 21 minutes
I think his 2hr statement is a rounding feature and for the most part he is correct. Sankey sucks on other topics but he’s right on this one and I can give credit where due

Edit to add. If Eugene was added:
A flight from Gainesville Regional (GNV) to Eugene (EUG) takes about 5 hours and 8 minutes

It was Utah, right? I feel like it had to be Utah.

I don’t know. Utah would be an outlier.
Something else to ponder is all the sports not just football. Can you imagine the B10 travel budgets? At some point it will cost some of the schools too much and they’ll cut some sports to save.

I'd be okay with Washington State. Eastern Washington is one of the few parts of the Pacific states that isn't bat shite crazy.

I feel like Stanford is the only one with zero self awareness to try this

When did Utah move to the west coast?

I lived on the West Coast. Utah is not on the “West Coast”…but maybe Sankey does not know that? Sure he does. If it was Utah and he said “West Coast”, but he meant the PAC, why didn’t he just say the PAC? I will give Sankey enough credit and ASSUME it wasn’t Utah…and I will be ready to be humbled for thinking Sankey is not an idiot, if shown otherwise.

If there’s one thing Sankey has done a good job of, it’s keeping the SEC as local as possible and keeping travel costs low
