Hmmmmm, let's see.
LSU returns 2338 rushing yards and 30 rushing TD's
Bama returns 1059 rushing yards and 11 TD's
Obvious answer is obvious

must be nice to get your comparison with a guy who only played well against Kent State.

Right. So he's gonna suck, right? We have not shot at upgrading from Jordan fricking Jefferson.

You've obviously never seen Jalston Fowler play.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that Alabama has the edge at RB because, at least in this guy's mind, the coaching at that position is better. Want proof? Just look at the last three starting running backs Alabama has had. All three of them have gone/will go in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft, two of those have/will go in the 1st round of the NFL Draft, one was a Heisman Trophy winner while another was a finalist, and two of them were 1st Team All-Americans.

I never said that.

Are you expecting Miles to go Air Raid? Just hand the fricking ball of to your stable of backs and let the 5 John Hannah's up front take care of it.

Well, Alabama has seen each of its last three starting RBs drafted in the top two rounds of the NFL draft.

and that has to do what exactly with who will have better RB's in 2012?

What does that have to do with this year?

It was reponse to having confidence that Alabama will produce another strong running game. We've done it time and again under Burton Burns. I mean, LSU fans have confidence in Mettenberger right?

I expect to see one of Alabama's RBs invited to the Heisman trophy ceremony

It wouldn't surprise me. We've had two the past two years. I think this years OL will be the best in Saban's tenure. Lots of talent.

However, I also think we are deeper than we ever have been at RB. That's even when we had both Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.

I THINK that 'Bama will have more yards than LSU but it'll be close. I don't think experience is as big of a factor at RB then other positions on the field. It's usually the easiest position to get accustomed to at the next level.

IF Mettenberger is as good as all the LSU fans say he is. They probably won't run as much. They can open it up.

how did LSU divide the carries

Ford - 127
Ware - 177
Blue - 78
Hilliard - 62

They kept it about as even as you can with 4 running backs that deserve time...

I can not think of any team that divided the carries four ways in a game, didn't LSU go with the hot hand from game to game ?

Based on the last four years, Mettenberger should not succeed then. Correct?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL of this is irrelevant. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy. Yeldon reminding people of Richardson, Hart could start for other teams, blibbedy blabedy blooo.

But Mett, a guy who saw action last year, started in JUCO and tore it up in spring...meh. LSU has a huge question mark at QB.

I thought this thread was about running backs. Stop deflecting to us having confidence in our QB. Stats prove what our backs can do. Richardson was your workhorse last year. Your other backs are unproven, for the most part. DWI.

I'll also say, I don't know how we are going to use our RBs this year. It'll be one of the most interesting storylines in the fall.

That's nice bargging and all, but completely meaningless. Do you think the RB coaching at Arkansas was as good or better under Houston Nutt? McFadden was better than any of the great Bama backs plus they had Jones and Hillis.
