I wasn't arguing with you.

And it wasn't an attack on Vandy as much as Houston Nutt.

I figured you knew you suck at sports by now.

woopig, your argument makes no sense at all. The Waltons are one of the wealthiest families in the world. No one is disputing that. But that is not UA's money.

And this has NOTHING to do with this thread. This isn't about which school has the most money. It is about which school has the most filthy rich people backing them that can literally do whatever the hell they want to do.

Ahh....the reply of an idiot who has no clue and claims himself to be the winner of an argument.....even though multiple people are laughing at his failure to comprehend. I figured this bush league move would come eventually.

Nipplehead,

Your argument is that of 100 VU people donating $1 dollar for an endowment of $100.

My argument is that we have the backing of a donor for $15,000,000,000.00 if we want any of it. And that is just ONE of the many family members of ONE family we can use. Then there is Tyson, Hunt's, etc.

-Walton Art Center
-Sam M. Walton College of Business
-New Field Turf project
-etc, the list goes on and on. We can use any of their money

Making sense now?

I argued that the size of the endowment is related to that question

The size of a schools endowment has absolutely nothing to do with bigwigs. Once again....bigwigs are a single people who can drop 4 million at the drop of a hat and it wouldn't even register as a tax break. I'm sure that "VU has lots of filthy rich people that donate TONS"....but that still isn't what is considered a "bigwig".....those are just large donors...

As everybody knows, the most important thing is SEC sports.

Our donors always step up to give us the finest sports facilities.

What a joke. Sure if you change the original intent from "who has the wealthiest alum" to "who has the largest endowment," no doubt your argument is without a flaw. But unfortunately for you and your argument, that was not the intent of this thread. The intent is clearly the question of who has the wealthiest alumni. If you add up all the money from the alumni of arky and all the money from the alumni of Vandy, whoever has the most money is the school with the wealthiest alumni.

There really is no way to quantify those numbers in real life because no one has access to that kind of information and it would be far to difficult to go digging up the sum total of all income from each schools alumni base. Therefore, we as outsiders have to rely on what is known to come to a reasonable conclusion. We know around how much all the Waltons and Tyson and Jerry Jones are worth. They are at the top end of Arkys alumni money. We do not have that same sort of thing with Vandy, at least not yet. No one has provided it and since not many (if any?) Vandy alum appear on the top incomes of Forbes list (or other business magazines) a reasonable assumption is that Vandy doesn't have alum similar to Arkys. That is why everyone is saying that Arkys alum have the wealthiest. To argue that we are irrational or stupid for arguing as such is intellectually dishonest and you seem like a smart person, so I expect better from you.

I got out in 2001. Didn't make six figures until last year. As evidenced by my posting on here, I work less than I have in my entire life.

VAnderbilt was founded by the super rich.

Wal-Mart's only been really super rich for the past 25 years or so. Give us some time. Its all relatively new to us.

If you have an endowment that is 3 times what other SEC universities have, that's a sign that
rich, powerful people are giving to the university.

That's the good thing about hanging on to that Wal-Mart stock.

This is your problem. You have a big misconception of the word "bigwig". A bigwig is not someone who flies under the radar.

Nice. I still have to step my game up and find a job. I had a great one set up until the market went to shite and the fund folded.
