Bama Slim...... I'm sure several of the Waltons do/did attend different schools. But the Walton Business School is a really good dept. at the U of A, IMO.

that most economic indicators point to Vanderbilt as being the richest school in the SEC.

Depends on how you define rich.

If it is endowment bank account balance = VU

If it is the power to "point and buy" = Arkansas

you're pretty delusional.

The lowest Walton Members bank account is more than 5 times that of VU's endowment.

do Waltons automatically graduate from Arky, with that much money I thik I could find a better school to attend. No offense intended Arky fans.

None taken. I don't know about the other colleges on campus, but the Walton College of Business is pretty damn good. The Waltons have poured tons of money into the business department over the years to try and pull us away from the national sterotype that we're all retarded. It seems to have worked out pretty well so far.

Yea, i know.....was jfwy.

Just like MS has the national stereotype of being toothless, over-all wearing cousin lovers.....

......even though that is pretty much secluded in and around the Starkville, MS area..

Arkansas' endowment is approaching the $1 billion mark.

Vandy has a big head start on everybody else in the SEC. They've been rich for a long time.

We're new money, for sure. The academic reputation of the University of Arkansas had made great strides in the past 15 years, and I only expect that pace to accelerate in the future.

We're not talking about the richest family. You are assuming that Walton family money is interchangeable with University money. It's not.
VU is a wealthier institution, period. The facts are not on your side.

This thread is not on your side......"Bigwigs" is in reference to rich, powerful people.......not the school itself.

You DO realize how expensive it is to get into Vandy right? Their tuition costs are insane for SEC levels and more than makes up for their smaller student body.

One academic year at Vandy: $54,718

The average tuition costs for one academic year at a 4-year school: $5,836

This explains Vandy's high endowment.

Were you born stupid? or just become that way at ND?

If your parents are millionaires and let you sit around on a particular portion but my parents are billionaires and don't keep as much sitting around with me, at the end of the day my parents are still wealthier than yours.

This isn't about just wealthy alums or richest school either. This is about which school has the most people whose wealth greatly stands out from the crowd.

If you have the backing of say Wal-mart or Tyson chicken.....THAT is a bigwig. Or say you have ties to Microsoft or Apple or some other multi-billion dollar corporation.

We aren't talking about someone whose net worth is in the 8 figure range. This is 9 figures or more.

You have a valid argument to a point....your problem is that point has nothing to do with this thread.
