No doubt. I think AU and UF fans enter the season with similar expectations, and neither should be talked about for a "backslide".
any more of a backslide and we are MSU or OM.

hey, it could happen.
Also, i hadnt thought about it but MSU could possibly slide back into the gutter, but i dont see it happening while Merlins is still there

My pick is UGA.
They will start the season out in the top 5, and IMO the odds of them finishing in the top 5 are slim to none. They could potentially lose 3 games in the East alone, and AU will give them fits as well from the West. I see Richt underachieving again, and having a 3 loss season, which will put them outside of the top 5, and put an end to the lofty expectations for this season. I've heard NC chatter out of UGA fans for the first time this year, in a long time, so I don't see that happening.

I'm looking forward to the Vandy-AU game, series tie-breaker.

UF and AU will both have above average/average seasons, which is what most fans expect. 7-9 wins IMO for both.

Bama - They have a weaker team and a tougher schedule having to play on the road against Arkansas and LSU, and their non-conference game is against a better opponent. Plus, this Arkansas team will likely be significantly better than the one they played last season (Arkansas was without Knile Davis, Dennis Johnson wasn't 100%, half of our starting D-line was out, and we relied on a true freshman and first year JUCO transfer at OT).

relative to fanbase expectations, this is a good pick.
They seem to think they'll stroll thru the East. When, last year, they were only marginally better than UT and UF and behind USC.

What about Joe Adams and Greg Childs? Something tells me Adams may be missed on ST and Childs as a vertical deep threat.

Childs, while a key loss, is not nearly as devastating as the loss of Wright.

Joe Adams is going to be missed a ton. Greg Childs was a shell of himself last year until the Cotton Bowl when he was finally healthy again.
If Marquel Wade is allowed back on the team then he will step in to Adams role. His performances in the spring games were ridiculous. He could skip right past Cobi as the best receiver on the team if he could just keep his head on straight.

There is no way we'll be better without Petrino
Alabama is still going to beat the shite out of us again, and I honestly don't think they're nervous about that game all. They might have been a bit before Petrino left, but definitely not now

He certainly wasn't in 2011

but you make a good point about them starting top 5. i dont think they will finish anywhere near that at the end of the year.

i think they just got a good batch of weed over there last week, or maybe a bad batch of shrooms. i like they had an increase in posters over here, but to me it seems like they are just trying to be like the MSU grinders. you're better than that UGA
