I still think we contended for the title in 2011, although no one will admit it. We would've had the only road win in the Alabama-LSU-Arkansas trifecta and LSU would have been the last team to lose. Alabama would have beaten South Carolina in the SECCG and played Arkansas for the national title.

That didn't happen because LSU was the better team and beat us, but all the pregame talk of the Arkansas/LSU game not mattering was nonsense.

Texas A&M was an all male military school sending our boys off to win wars. We are still playing catch up to a lot of our rivals because of that.

We're playing catch-up because of horrible decisions made by people in charge, especially as it relates to contract negotiation.

Bill Byrne should have been fired after the 2009 season for only having 6 out of 12 regular season games televised and agreeing to it to "force people to attend the games in order to watch them".

that Cotton Bowl game didn't matter for OU.

The same way that the Sugar Bowl didn't matter for Alabama?

No offense Carolina Tide, but I don't think those games are that similar. A&M happened to have its best season in decades that year. That Landry Jones OU team was pretty good at 11-2. But as we all know John Pigskin in his own tasteless fashion won it for the Aggies. Hats off, they have scoreboard. It would mean more if we played every season but those days are over. In any event I care as a fan and I know our team did too.

I thought Alabama looked ready to play in that Sugar Bowl. The more accurate assessment is that both Alabama and Oklahoma wanted those games but got beat. It does happen unfortunately.

We were never really one of the top 3 teams. We had a ton of lucky breaks to get to where we were when we played LSU. We were clearly one of the top 6 or so. I think we were closer in 2010. That Auburn game was atrociously called. It was borderline Florida 2009. Had we won that game then we are playing for the national title and I think we win.

FSU was an all girl's college when you won your national championship. Quit your bitching and get it done.

Here4beer, we actually would have rather had OU than Aggy, but for some reason they weren't willing to make the move. I'm sorry, Aggy is a big school with a lot of TV money potential, but you guys are just to weird for the SEC.
It would be best that ya'll ignore OU and not get in a pissing match with them, as they would have the record to piss on Aggy all day.

The reason was that we couldn't bring Texas with us because of the Longhorn Network. The SEC network was already in the making. Also, thank you 0596.

I love this thread. A&M fans are so easy.

edit: LOL sweet Big12 Conference title in 2010. Who did you play in the championship game again?

Oh, and I guess losing 54-15 in 97 = Conference Champion in College Station.

If students just show up to take the ACT do they get accepted too?
