Porches Restaurant in Wesson, Mississippi. In a old southern home with amazing food.

…why I had to stop watching it.

Yeah, me too. The first few times I saw True South I really enjoyed them just talking about the restaurant and the people there. Then it turned into John T in his sad whiny voice lamenting the “complicated history…” and the struggles of “people that don’t look like us…..” I just got sick of it.

Texas Oklahoma and Missouri aren’t the south. Texas is the southwest. Oklahoma is the Great Plains. Missouri is the Midwest

Tontitown Arkansas Grape Festival

I went to the Water Valley, MS Watermelon Festival one year. It was actually a pretty fun little carnival experience.

They had a train car in town filled with pics of past festivals. I wish I had the pic I took of the one where the only black people allowed to go were the kids on the big wooden watermelon float.

There were little face holes for all the kids to stick their heads through in the parade. So, from the outside, they looked liked the seeds.

Crazy how normalized some things became and crazier still that have kept the pic on display.

Yes I know I was just wondering if the show was going to expand to the new members of the sec areas? Maybe I’m wrong associating the show with the sec idk…

I’m currently reading his new book about emmit tills murder and the delta

It’s his attempt to reckon with the past

It’s ok but every page I read in wrights stupid gravelly voice

And also: I got curious, he actually narrates the audiobook for this one too. If you’d like 8 hours of this nonsense

Blasphemous as it may be, but Food for the Soul in Athens is better than Weaver D's.

east Texas is not the southwest, dumbass

I swear, Tennessee people are the least educated in geography of any group in the world

I had a roommate from Tennessee once and he said "Arkansas is more north than Tennessee..." and I showed him a map, and then he didn't want to talk about it anymore

he was my friend, and he was a fricking idiot

Don’t talk about your “roommate” husband like that

And the vast majority of Texas is southwest, congrats on drawing a distinction on 1/4 of the state

North
South
East
West

East is 1 out of 4 directions meaning 1/4

Can I make it any simpler for your simple mind?

describe your scenario...

since you say "east is 1/4 of Texas", what would Dallas be? East or North?

and what about the hill country? Central Texas doesn't exist? It's only "North South East and West"?

Why would I care about the regional distinctions of a state I live 15 hours from. The world exists outside your basement in Texas dude. I’m beginning to see why your husband “roommate” stopped talking to you haha

What you gonna start grilling me next on highways and fence lines in Waco haha
