Italian food is better but get Cajun in Lousiana because it's better there than anywhere else.
Also crab and shrimp>>>>>>crawfish

Hey pussy, I agree with you. I am pretty much from the coast and I love all cajun food. All the diff coast regions have great food whether it be in LA, MS, AL, or FL.
One of my best friends and roommates in college was from Monroe and he cooked all the damn time so Ive had both north and south LA cuisine and its all fire.

I feel that cajun food has much more variety. So if you like variety, cajun food.

How could someone choose Italian to live on over cajun? Cajun food is so vast, it varies from couchon delait, gumbo, jambalaya, ettoufe to stuffed chickens, alligator, turtle soup, crawfish, catfish, seafood. Cajun is more a style of cooking than a class of food.

Your from North Louisiana so please spare us with your vast knowledge of Cajun food. Why does North Louisiana have to try to ride on south Louisiana's coat tail when it comes to culture and food.
And what do you think Italian food is, pizza and pasta?

Once I made it down to College Station for school, and had real cajun food, I never looked back. It is hard to find in dallas, but houston and over towards LA, you find plenty.
I can get the better name brands in dallas at some of our cajun markets. I have some Savoy's andouille in the freezer right now. I eat boudain at least once every two weeks, and make my own gumbo from scratch (only way to do it right).
We can get fresh crawfish here as well so i'll do at least a few boils during the season.

I prefer italian but if your going to BR then cajun is what you need to eat. You can get italian anywhere but it's hard to find real good homemade cajun food.

Well a Monroe chef won the 2011 LA seafood cook-off so obviously you don't have live in S LA to know how to cook.
