Haha. Perhaps I worded that incorrectly. Of course Saban ultimately is the reason Saban can never come back to LSU. I was responding to a poster who wrote that LSU should hire Saban and I was basically saying that Saban would not return to LSU even if LSU wanted him because of the way fans treated him when he came to Alabama. Saban to LSU will never happen....it's not really anyone's fault....just the way it is.

The only place I would fear losing Saban to is Notre Dame in case his Catholic faith gave him some dream of restoring the program before he retired. However, if that was going to happen, he would have left after the NC game.

I think Mullen would do the most with the talent provided at this time. Plus, he would actually give the ball to his play makers unlike Crowton's dumb arse!

Pete Carroll would be nice if he flames out with Seahawks

Urban Meyer 2.0, I am sure he can recruit he has continued to bring in decent players at Utah after Meyer left

Mullen/Muschamp.

No thanks on Pelini. Gave up half a hundred to Nutt and the Casey Dick led Arkansas Razorbacks.

I also like the guy at Oregon, and Sarkisian at UW although neither would leave.

Carroll will probably retire after he's done with the seahawks. He's getting fairly old

I really don't understand why some people are fixated on two games during Pelini's time as DC.

Never mind that we had a top 10 defense each of the 3 years that he was here, is a kick arse competitor, and has led Nebraska back from a joke to a top 10 team as HC.

No, because his defense gave up 50 to Arky in 6 overtimes and 40something to KY in 3 overtimes...he sucks.

I think he would be an improvement over Miles and I fail to see how someone like Muschamp or Smart would be a better option.

Pelini is completely unproven until he can show his defense is still good without the most dominant college DT of the decade blowing up entire o-lines every play

I would say Pelini is unproven until he wins somewhere besides the Big 12 North.

For me that's not it.

It's that Pelini's defenses (particularly at LSU)typically got worse towards the end of the year.

It could be more than that. Those two just blatantly stick out because neither had any business being on the same field as LSU in 07'. All with arguably the most talented defense in LSU history.

Nebraska plays in the Big 12 North. The division is horse shite. He is a kick arse competitor though.

A lot of coaches would be an improvement over Miles. Muschamp and Smart would both be better recruiters than Pelini, and they both have plenty years under the wing of the best coach in football. That is, at least to me, why they would be more appealing than Pelini. He just doesn't do it for me personally.

What yall need to keep in mind about the Arkansas game. He was trying to stop the best collective group of runningbacks to ever play in the SEC and maybe all of college football. (DMAC, Felix, and Hillis) LSU was not the only team to have trouble stopping them

Bo is a great coach. I didn't think he would be able to turn Nebraska back to a pretty good team in such a short amount of time.

I know many don't want Gus but everywhere he goes...he wins. He won't ever get your school in any hot water either. Btw, he is holding out b/c he wants to be an OC for an NFL team.

Smart is not ready for a prime time job in my opinion. Neither is McElwain. Did any of you see that little rant that McElwain did on the ESPN all access show? He just did not sound like a head coach should sound if that makes any sense.

Both of those guys need time at a school like a Louisville, Cincinnati, etc before being Big 6 SEC coaches.
