TM7 was a good player, but was over hyped because of the blonde hair and cool nick name.

Did TM the decent have a NC ring?

Unless another major team picks him up though, I think he's cost himself a good chunk of change to start out when the time comes though.
Janoris Jenkins went in the first round. Mathieu will be drafted where he was going to be drafted anyways, in my opinion. The NFL doesn't give a shite about weed, which is what is so ironic about all of this.
For Mathieu, this will be a bump in the road. For LSU, we lost one of the all-time greats to ever wear the uniform.

TTsTowel made a legit thread but you fricks are so insecure.

Look at each players stats from their freshman and sophomore years. There is no comparison in the impact that Mathieu had compare to Arenas. None.
From the official Bama website:
Arenas
2007 (SOPHOMORE):
Starting return man and a back-up defensive back who saw action in 12 games.
Had 27 kickoff returns for 657 yards this season to rank second in the Tide single-season return charts in both categories ... returned 21 punts for 323 yards and a touchdown Averaged 15.4 yards per punt return, also the second-best single-season mark in UA history ... ranked second in the SEC and 12th nationally in average punt return yardage (15.4) ... also had 20 tackles, including two for loss, and a pass breakup on defense on the season.
2006 (FRESHMAN): The top kick and punt returner on the team as a freshman ... saw action in all 13 games ... had 18 kick returns for 313 yards, an average of 19.1 per return, with a long of 31 yards ... also returned 31 punts for 286 yards, a 9.2 average per return, and had two touchdowns.
TM7 from the official LSU site:
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2011):
A unanimous first-team All-American and recipient of the Bednarik Award as the nation's top defensive player, representing the second straight year an LSU player has won the honor ... Became LSU's first Heisman Trophy finalist invited to New York since Charles Alexander in 1977 ... The 2011 SEC Defensive Player of the Year as voted upon by the Associated Press ... Started 13 games.
Led the SEC in forced fumbles with six and fumble recoveries with five ... Shattered his own school record in single-season forced fumbles and finished second in LSU single-season fumble recoveries ... Ranked No. 1 nationally in fumble recoveries and was fourth nationally in forced fumbles ... Ranked second in the SEC and fourth nationally in punt return average at 15.6 yards per return and added two touchdowns ... His 421 punt return yards on 21 attempts finished as the sixth-highest total yardage in LSU single-season history ... Team leader in total tackles with 76, including 59 of the solo variety ... Also notched 7.5 tackles for loss of 45 yards, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and nine pass breakups.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2010)
Played in all 13 games with one start at left cornerback against Louisiana-Monroe ... Ranked first in the SEC and fifth nationally with five forced fumbles and tied for first in the conference in fumble recoveries with three ... Led the team with seven pass breakups ... Fourth on the team in tackles with 57 ... Was an absolute playmaker on the season with 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions.

Was a better punt returner and corner back. TM7 was the better player, and I think most people on here would pick Mathieu over Arenas if we're playing backyard pickup.

Settle down, grandpa. It's just the internet.

Your hatred is clouding what you're reading. Folks have said TM was a heckuva player and playmaker. But he is hardly the first to have done it and other have done it better. The one category. ONE and only category, he was great at, was FF's. When you factor in total turnovers, Javy was better, with more INT's and doing it as a DB, not as an outside pass rusher.
Posted on 8/12/12 at 11:47 am to TTsTowel
I just think it's funny that LSU fans care so much about TM when he didn't give a frick about LSU. Jeopardizing your collegiate career just to get high means he obviously didn't give a shite about his situation...Yeah he was good, he did a lot of nice things on the field, but you know it's a 2 way sport, you have to carry your image off the field too.

Most feel they do a disservice to their undying fandom if they recognize non-bama players as anything but mediocre. This is just one reason why it is so hard to like bamafans.

Yup. TM was an awesome player. But as a corner, Javy owns him. As a returner, Javy owns him. In yellow hair, TM wins.

We must not be reading the same thread. Did you miss all of the threads throughout his career calling him overrated?

You can't read. TM wasn't the best ever, he was a very good player, but Javy did more, accomplished more and likely will be the higher draft pick.

Arenas had more impact in the DB position, creating more PBU and INT's. He had a bigger impact in the return game, sharing a lead with the all time NCAA leader in PR for TD's.

whatever dude, we've said he was damn good, just because we're not here sucking his balls saying he's the best DB ever to play the game....y'all all pissed and shite.
Posted on 8/12/12 at 11:50 am to Alahunter
What Javier recording 6 ints in three years is so much more amazing than TM only recording 4 ints in two years before being kicked off the team?

Their roles were exactly the same? Not. Javy was a cover corner while TM7 was a corner blitz specialist.
This is what I meant.
Stands to reason that one would have more ints and the other more FF.
