re: Whether or not you noticed, you witnessed greatness from TM7 in his time at LSU.

I never said he sucked....yes titles are what we remember....but also the entire career...since TM7 flamed out, we will never know....

Fair enough, hyperbole on my part.

I remember Bo, McFadden, Prothro, Ronnie Brown, etc, just to name a very few.
==========
Although Brown was on a conference champion team, as was Tyrann.

The thread has to devolved down to 'U jelly' now? Oh well,

I think what the LSU fans in here are struggling with is the fact that nobody is saying Javy was the GREATEST EVAAAR! We're just saying neither was TM. The two were very comparable. You can argue that TM was a little better if you want, but there's absolutely no evidence that he was MUCH better than Arenas. And Arenas was certainly NOT one of the best players ever, just as TM isn't/wasn't. However, Arenas WAS one of the greatest punt returners ever. But, he was never hyped like TM. He was known as what he was (and TM was) - a very good, undersized DB, who was good at blitzing, tackling, special teams, and going all out. But, best ever? No.

I really don't see the need to compare at all. Each did their deal and was recognized for it. Tyrann chose to put himself above the team, unfortunate.

But, what you Bama fans are clearly struggling with is that this thread had nothing to do with Alabama or Javy. It was simply an appreciation thread for the "on the field" accomplishments by an exciting LSU player, whose career ended way too soon.
So, why the frick was Javy brought into this thread??

My point on titles was not to flame LSU fans...rather it was to point out that great players are memorialized in football lore for the titles they lead their teams to....Trent will do down is perhaps the best RB ever at the Capstone and his toting the rock helped carry Bama to a title (2 actullay)....yes many great players did not win a natty (bo, peyton, etc.)...
Had TM7 stayed on the team and LSU won a title this year, he would undoubtedley go down as one of the most memorable players in LSU history...he will still be remembered as a great one...but one who also turned out to be a huge disappointment

That's a good question too.

True. I feel worse for him than the team. Club has plenty of athletes but Tyrann probably cost himself millions in the draft round pick. But he chose himself over the team and that's the consequence.

Two years as a starter is pretty much a career in major college football. He made it to NYC, he had a great career.

As a measuring stick for what TM really was. The "greatness" stuff is just over the top.

Why does it matter if LSU fans felt he was one of the greatest defensive playmakers to wear an LSU jersey?

I guess it doesn't. Be stupid.

All i saw was Da'rick dragging him all over the field

The only thing that is stupid is dismissing his statistics and accomplishments because Alabama fans have felt so threatened by his accolades and have to come on the board to prove over and over and over again how much they don't care about TM. They care so little, they're posting on page 13 of a thread started by an Auburn fan stating that TM was a great player.

Small victories these days for Tennessee. Man, how times have changed. You used to be an elite program, but now you're trying to point to 3 catches for 60 yards and a 31 point home loss.

The OP is an AU fan, but also a CFB fan that likes exciting football and great players I suspect. Your post is akin to responding to every UA poster that has a 'Got 14?', "Road to 15' or some other Atcheson concoction in his sig or post, except the OP has some actual substance behind his statement. Classy man, truly.
