Having 61 new players doesn’t erase the only actual data point we have, which is Indiana destroying Alabama. If the most recent head-to-head was a blowout, acting like Alabama should automatically be ranked ahead of Indiana is still stupid. “Different team this year” doesn’t change the scoreboard we already saw. Did you get some new coaches too?

I figure if they had State’s schedule Indiana would end the season at 8 & 4 or 7 & 5. I think MSU will most likely finish with the same record.
So, thereby and forthwith, I think Indiana is probably about as good as MSU this year.

Odds move on market money, not last year’s score. LSU being favored just means more money and power ratings leaned their way. So using betting odds to argue Alabama should be ahead of Indiana is dumb — the only real data point is Indiana blowing Alabama out.

This is not well thought out. Alabama would beat Northwestern by way more than 6 points right now. And Vegas would support that.

Bama defeated LSU and yet LSU is (apparently) favored this year at this point because of market money. However, there is no reason to say that Alabama should be ranked ahead of Indiana. Rankings have nothing to do with market forces. I don’t know how else to explain it to you.
