They have never finished #1 in a major poll.

Meh. I'm not going to give them shite about it after one of ours. It is a little odd though I guess.

With Bama though you at least have like 6 that are beyond reproach no matter what anybody says. Not one of Ole Miss' are legit. NOT ONE.

I mean if LSU wanted to play that game we would claim 7 or 8.

Why aren't they legit? Better question is what is it to an LSU fan?

No reputable poll has ever said you were #1, that's why.

The name of the site is Tigerdroppings. I can wonder aloud anything I damn well please without having to justify it to rebel scum like yourself.

Wait, they don't even have an AP or UPI one? Ever?

Ole Miss' most legit claim is 1960. Ole Miss' 1960 national title is deemed legitimate by the NCAA fwiw, as they finished #1 in the Football Writers Association of America poll, which is recognized by the NCAA. They finished 9-0-1 but Minnesota finished #1 in the AP and UPI polls by going 8-1. That's kinda messed up. Then Ole Miss won their bowl game and Minnesota lost making the records looks even more different at 10-0-1 and 8-2.

Ole Miss claiming 1959 or 1962 is bullshite. They have absolutely no right to those, unlike the case they can make for 1960.

Let's be clear that Ole Miss did come in #1 in at least one poll in 59, 60, and 62, but 1960 is the only one they came in #1 in a poll the NCAA recognizes in their record books.

So yes, they have, in 1960.

The polls the NCAA recognizes that season's national champion or champions in are the AP poll, the Coaches poll (UPI), the Football Writers Association of America poll, and the National Football Foundation poll.

Ole Miss finished #1 in the Football Writers Association of America poll in 1960.

Great times - their only blemish was a 6-6 tie they salvaged in Oxford against a young Tiger team that came into that game with four straight loses. Glad we could cost them a chance at the NC.

It must be there proximity to the state of Alabama. Wind patterns spreading the delusion.

Now let's hear it from the Minnesota angle.

Drac seems to have issues with Ole miss and Arky. He is just an arrogant flaming arse that likes to post and start threads that belittle other schools.

I don't know where they get off but if this season doesn't deserve some recognition, then all NCs are debatable. Note that 7 of the points given up were on Billy Cannon's punt return.

I just have no respect for schools who claim titles they didn't win.

That's a great season, but it's not a National Championship season. Syracuse was undefeated and finished the year ranked #1 in both polls.
