Where there’s smoke.......

It’s my understanding that Jimbo came for Scott Woodward. Not A&M despite what our resident posters would have you believe.

Even I've heard that Jimbo has a wandering eye, and I don't claim insight on anything related to CFB. This stuff is definitely out there

State finished ahead of Auburn in the SEC West last year and 4 of the last 7 years.

We'll finish 3rd. May be tied with Aggy, but we'll hold the tiebreaker on them. They're our bitch in the west.

MSU is difficult to predict this year

With a just barely serviceable offense and an elite defense, they will make some noise.

LSU made a living under Miles doing just that.

Somewhere behind Bama and ahead of Arkansas.

Probably 4th. Maybe 5th. Potentially 3rd.

A&M, Auburn, and MSU are all jockeying for position.

A&M will regress from last year, extremely unlikely to finish 2nd again. MSU has also owned us since Manziel left.

Auburn will either surprise everyone and battle for the West title or suck complete arse but still win enough games to get to at least 4th or 5th.

MSU lost a lot of great players but should still field a solid defense. If their QB production is even halfway decent, no reason to think they can’t finish at least 4th again, and be in serious contention for the 3rd spot most of the season.

4th, give or take 1 place. Definitely ahead of Ole Miss and Arkansas, definitely behind Alabama and LSU.

Calm down, quit googling your symptoms, you've just been grinded. It's ok we still respect you.

Looking at the West, it's gonna be tough:

1. Alabama
2/3/4. LSU/Auburn/Aggies
5. State
6/7. Ole Miss/Arkansas

So, I think a 5th place finish is very realistic, unless one of the schools above them simply don't pan out.

1.Bama
2.LSU

3-4-5 State-aTm-Auburn

6-7 Ole Miss-Arkansas.

I think MSU has a better chance at finishing 6th than finishing 2nd, but State has held their own against Auburn and Aggy the last few years

We can finish anywhere from 3rd to 5th this year. If Tommy Stevens can come in and throw it (and the WRs are genuinely improved as they say they are), I can see us ruining some teams’ seasons in Starkville.
