If it worked, we would have been up by 4 scores. That is the point.
A field goal wouldn't change anything and would have been going through the motions (up by 3 scores before the play and up by 3 scores if we kicked the field goal).
The math on the fake field goal makes sense. The optics would be better if there were about 7+ minutes left.
Anytime a Barner complains about classless is funny though.
Well worth the attempt.
