It's a better rivalry than UF/UT. A better comparison might be Florida State/Miami or Nebraska/Oklahoma. A lot always seems to be at stake when both teams play each other. Both rivalries are also one-sided rivalries. For one school (Miami, Nebraska), it's the biggest game of the year but for the other, there are bigger fish (rivalries) to fry (FSU, Oklahoma).

I'd just rather call it a big game and let the "rivalry" tag move to whomever is hottest in the West.
I know, for a while there, AU was a much bigger game than Bama.
I prefer LSU just be really good and everybody else circle our game on the schedule. Once Saban leaves Bama, it will definitely die some.

If the teams have continued success and the games continue to play a factor in the SEC west, I think this game could turn into a rivalry. Hell, a lot of our fans already seem to be disgusted with each other. The teams seem to think its the largest game they play as well, RIGHT NOW. But like everyone has said, of course we aren't traditional rivals. Give it 10 - 15 more years of steam

I don't hate LSU as a team - but I sure do dislike their whiny superstitious conspiracy believe'n loud-mouthed fans. Only half of the equation is filled.
If you replace LSU with Bama, it would be more accurate.

On a side note, I'm pretty confident that LSU is Saban's biggest rival.

do you live in Louisiana... I know here in north Alabama. Beating tn is a must. It has been this way as long as I have been alive

I live in Murfreesboro TN. Tenn is a shell of themselves and don't have the recruiting grounds to get back to being great. In 6 years Tenn has a lead on Bama for a total of 9 minutes. If I were a Bama fan , I'd fight to keep that game too.
