It's obvious these mouthbreathers are running out of money and their mobile homes will not be getting new roofs this year. My question is what makes Auburn think anyone wants the job? Did the last coaching search not show Aubie anything? They stumbled around and went with one of their last choices (because everyone turned them down) late in the coaching carousel period, but then spun it up as a home run hire.

Boosters are paying for everything... it's not just Rane and Harbert. We have many other boosters here (at least three families that are worth $500m - $1bn each and they are giving more than ever)... former players like Barkley (just signed a $200m TNT contract) and Cam are also involved... Tim Cook ($1.5bn) is more focused on academics but could be another potential booster in the future. He is a huge AU football fan and attends the Iron bowl every other year.

Keeping coaches around is more expensive for a program. Look at A&M now. AU has the money.

I know that's a good amount of money, but seeing Jimbo's buyout constantly thrown around on here makes those numbers look so minuscule.

Auburn has more money than any program not named aTm, and they are ready, willing and able to spend it.

NIL - millions in the coffers - not a problem
Facilities - Top of the SEC - not a problem
Buyouts - million$ spent - not a problem

Not sure, but I'd guarantee it wouldn't be before MSST. That's for damn sure.

Don't forget the $200k to Cam which MST couldn't match!

Thought it was only $180k...which makes it even worse the cheap fricks wouldn't even pony up for one of the GOATS in SEC history.

Posted it here awhile back - if you add up every buyout AU has paid to their head football coaches in their entire history, it’s about 55% of what TAMU would owe Jimbo if they let him go this year.

You can't spend $200k you don't have...
