Iunno. I'm not old enough to remember past the last two decades. One good decade, one bad. In the 90s we won the conference 4 times, and lost one conference championship game(we won the division twice though). If you want I can share stories of what it's like to win a league more than once in a ten year span.


And since I answered honestly, can you answer something honestly? Whether you went to Alabama or not, you seem to love it, but why don't you get that Alabama just hasn't been that good for a long time.

They were good in 2009... but 2010 Auburn, 2005 tu, 2004 USC, 2001 Miami, 1999 Florida State, 1995 Nebraska... all of those teams are greater than any single team Alabama has ever had. Sure. In the 20s, 30s, 60s and 70s... Alabama was alright. But who cares? That is ancient history.

And, aside from this flukey year where you didn't deserve a shot to even play for the National Championship, you only have 2 National Titles in the last 30 years. Just as many as LSU, USC, OU, Penn State, and Florida State... And even if you really view 2011 as legitimate, that still only ties you with Nebraska and Florida. Miami has still been a greater power over the relevant time frame.

And within the SEC in the last 30 years? 3 SEC titles, and 1 split title.

LSU? 5 outright titles, and 1 split.
Auburn? 4 outright titles, and 2 split.
Tennessee? 4 outright titles, and 2 split.
Florida? 8 outright titles.
Georgia? 3 outright titles.

In the last 30 years Alabama has only had at best a marginally better winning tradition than Georgia, but at the VERY best... 5th best in the SEC.

And yet? You've still cheated your asses off just to get to 5th. 3 years of post season bans, 29 wins vacated, and god knows what else.



Serious question, you probably have every good hearted reason to love your team, and you probably think it is the greatest thing ever... but is what really gets to you... deep down... is that everyone else can see clear as day that your team is the most overrated team in history? Is that why your closet is filled with walmart t shirts that say 14 on it? Because if you keep saying it over and over again it hides from the fact that your team shouldn't be considered a blue blood, and the last time your team was actually the greatest team on the planet, JFK was still alive? Does that eat at you deep down? That Alabama had it's historic period under the Bear all the way back in the 60s which you probably weren't old enough to see... But then Switzer and Osbourne came... and then the U was born... and then Florida State... and then USC, and Florida and LSU...

Is that why this thread of all things got you to unload with posts? That you desperately needed the world to validate the Crimson Tide by declaring them a dynasty, even when it is obvious to the rest of the universe they are merely the 5th best program in the SEC?

Do you just live in constant frustration, or do you really find joy in beating a few rivals here and there and going to basically horrible bowl games? Please tell me where I was tearing my team down. All I said is our mediocre offense fed off momentum created by our outstanding defense. It is what it is. That's not bashing my team. Last year was one of my funnest years as a Tiger fan.

The same with our baseball team. We didn't win because of our mediocre hitting. We won because of our outstanding pitching.

I'm in no way, shape, or form a negatiger. Nothing about what I said was bashing my team, it was just the truth. What's hilarious is sunshine pumping from Bama fans "Ohh you guys had a great team, lulz at you guys bashing them", when all we heard before January was "The only reason you won was because we missed 4 field goals. Your offense wont even score this game".
