You've had 2 NC's. (One in 07 where you got lucky and backed into the championship game with 2 losses to UK and Arky).
3 SEC championships.
4 West titles.
6 Losing seasons in the 90's.
No undefeated
wrong 4 sec Champs.

Thanks, yeah, I kind of noticed that too.
It's like the music stopped all of a sudden.
Truth be told, I've always seen Auburn, Georgia and LSU as equals in the conference with Florida a johnny come lately to the party.
Funny thing is, LSU also has a head-to-head win% vs UGA too...

Think we can get 21 pages out of that?

Arky has not taken Auburn's spot. Period.
I agree with that and even posted so earlier. However, the writer does have this going for him over the last 4 years (using 4 year as the benchmark as that is how many years a player can play):
Au is 1-3 vs BAMA
Au is 1-3 vs LSU
Au is 1-3 vs ARK
Plus Au will be the underdog in all 3 of those game this year; with, IMO, Ark being the only of the 3 Au has a legitimate shot at wining. I think Au will lose all 3 which would bring the recent record to 1-4 vs all 3 of the teams.

And any we win will put it at 2-2 drawing even.
give me a break.

probably been mentioned, but the writer is talking about the big 3 in the West for the upcoming season. Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas are all ranked in the top 10 going into the season with Auburn the next closest as unranked in AP/25 in coaches'.
why exactly should auburn be counted in the "big 3" for the upcoming season, but not arkansas? because AU won a NC two seasons ago?

win them and people will. lose them (which is 90%+ of non Au fans perception of the outcome) and Au will fall further behind.
no need to be so defensive with me, I'm on Au's side of the agruement.

Please. No "glass half full" observations are allowed in flame threads., no matter how factual they may be.

First off, Yes because they won a NC 2 year ago and second becuase of the other historical metrics(that I'm sure the Au fans have posted) showing Au is superior to Ark.

that would make them better overall historically, which i think everybody can agree with.
again, when the writers refer to the "big 3 in the West" (usually when poking at UGA) they mean for the upcoming season, not historically. so why should unranked AU be included over top-10 arkansas?

They shouldn't just like LSU was not in 2009 or 2010. Until you finish in the top 3 why should you be considered to 3. IDK.

During that magical 2006 season who rolled that #2 ranked arse at home? Hogs 27 - AU 10.

New Big 3:
Texas A&M
LSU
Alabama
In that order.

LSU
Alabama
In that order.

definitely not gonna argue that either, but the past ten years has really only been separated by auburn blowing up for two seasons, the best season money can buy and the undefeated screw job.
in the past ten years, auburns finished above arkansas in the west rankings five times, so same for arkansas over auburn. they've split head to head 5 games apiece. both been to 2 SECCG, but the BIG difference is auburn won theirs, while we lost ours.
