1. 1972 LSU-bama at Legion Field. Both teams undefeated and ranked in top 5. bama won 35-21. It was my senior year at LSU and I was devastated.
2. Jan 9, 2012 BCSNCG. Literally made me ill.

I will say this about Auburn with momentum at their back and victory in sight they are a formidable foe. It is the best rivalry of any and I hope that I always remember that it is just a game.

Didn't Miss St. honor Nick Bell that night? I remember actually feeling bad that ya'll lost. I brought my first newborn daughter home from the hospital right before the game so I didn't care if we won

to me it wasnt heartbreaking. More like, "are you fricking kidding me" We literally gave the game away the entire night.
See, that's what was so heartbreaking. Not only did we give it away all game, but we also fought back from behind to get so close to pulling out a win that it hurt to lose it all on 2 horrible fumbles.
In 2012, A&M fans were louder at the end of the game. Never seen the student section so empty and demoralized, granted that was my Freshman year.
But ya know, War Eagle!

2006 Georgia @ Auburn is the actual #1. That year was aligning for an SEC team to jump into the BCSCG to take out Ohio State. We beat Florida that year ERGO when Florida beat Arkansas in the SECCG, the debate becomes who goes? Auburn or Florida? Since I'm using hindsight, I like to think Auburn would have gone.
There would've been a rematch in the SECCG to decide who goes.
lol @ a non-SEC winner going over an SEC winner though.

2000 Arkansas. We lost 17-10 in OT. We were 7-2 and a win would've clinched the West. Arky was 4-5 and going nowhere. We led 10-0 most of the game. They tied it at 10 in the 4th, then we had a last second FG blocked. We then proceeded to lose it in OT. I believe this game led to the 2001-08 "Dark Ages" of MSU football. Oh yeah, it snowed, sleeted, and rained during the game. Awful.

Easy, the 5th Down game. We were ROBBED of beating the National Champ. I was dating Gary Barnett's (CO assistant then who played at Mizzou) sister-in-law at the time. After the game, I met him and he adamantly denied they were given an extra down. BULL!!!
Here's the write-up from SDS recently:
Fifth Down: Missouri unfortunately was part of one of the most blatant, clear-cut, factual errors by an officiating crew in college football history on Oct. 6, 1990. Facing the eventual national champion Colorado Buffaloes, Missouri held a 31-27 lead in the game’s final seconds with CU driving. The chain crew did not flip the down marker after second down. The Tigers stuffed Eric Bieniemy short of the end zone and backup quarterback Charles Johnson spiked the ball with two seconds left on fourth down, forgetting the team already had run three plays. The officials forgot as well, apparently, awarding CU a “fifth down,” during which Johnson may or may not have scored a touchdown. But Colorado officially won the game, 33-31.

I've been to a whole lot of games in my life, so there's too many of these to want to recall.
