Why fire him before the seasons ends? The entire staff is Boise guys so the results after firing would likely be much worse than with Harsin continuing to run the show.
Harsin should be all smiles in that he has made 11 million (2 years) and will receive another 15 million with his Penske Truck. How in the hell could he be mad with a 25 million dollar stay in Lee County for 2 years.

The way the team looks at this point? Fire him and begin a comprehensive search for the new coach. Why keep him? Recruiting is bad with no signs of improvement forthcoming, culture and discipline...culture and discipline could/will further erode...keeping a lame duck coach is never good because they can do more damage than good.
Let one of the assistant coaches take over with a hint they would be considered if they solidify the teams play, culture, work habits. (You may not mean it, but they need to change direction fast)
quote:Well, I agree. But face it....if not for what happened this past spring (no matter whose fault or who caused it) he might have added to his resume and be considered for big raises and other perks. His reputation will be damaged now and it will hinder his getting another P5 job and future earnings. Coaches have big egos and that won't sit well with Harsin, I would think.

Just my opinion from an outsider looking in. I semi-feel for Auburn fans. We are all fans and would hate for our teams to be in this situation.

What the hell has Harsin accomplished at Auburn that would make other places look at him?
His recruiting is trash and his coaching abilities are questionable and he can’t find any reputable coaches willing to coach with him except his Potato Posse that no one else wants to hire.
Oh yeah. Harsin has made himself look so appealing.

Beautiful? Auburn barely beat Missouri in OT. The play calling sucked. Our team is the laughing stock of the SEC. Harsin has got to go.

Absolutely nothing. but a certain measure would have to be placed on what happened this past spring. He has not done a very good job recruiting, but I don't think i unreasonable to think if the past spring had not happened, recruiting would be at least a little better. He was hamstrung when it became apparent that he is a lame duck coach. Auburn (for better or worse) at least appears to be looking for a reason to fire him. Recruits just are not going to line up to go there under those circumstances.

Auburn fans certainly did not believe that when he was hired.

Oh yeah. Harsin has made himself look so appealing.
Auburn is late to the table with NIL and he was embroiled in fake accusations and a major investigation. He did not have the support of administration. I would venture to say that very few coaches could survive and flourish under those conditions.
