Hiring Charlie Weis as an OC. Thank God Kansas hired him as a HC because cooler boy was awful.

Not firing our OC for mullen

The run we ran in that situation was bad as well. Some sort of draw or something if I remember correctly not exactly the downhill power I was hoping for.
I think people don't realize just how big of a loss James Fowler was last year. Losing him took a chunk of our running playbook away IMO.

clemson game- hill breaks it off in them for a 50 yard td run and then we dont see him again
And to add to this. Not running the ball on 2nd and 3rd and short to ice the game at the end, which ultimately allowed Clemson to keep its timeouts.

true even though had our wrs not dropped it then the play was a great call. I didn't like it though because all year mett was terrible on boot leg passes

Mack Brown told Johnny Manziel he would make a good Safety. Most bone headed move ever.

It's easy to second guess, but several in Bama game last year:
* The Fake FG on 4th and 12
(Although the coaching staff was trying to get a time out called and get players' attention on the field to stop it right before the snap.)
* 54 yard FG attempt (should've coffin-corner punted.)
* On side kick (though if Hairston had held up a tenth of a second, his hand is a few inches backward, and he doesn't touch it at 9 1/2 yards -and it's LSU's ball.)
* The 4th and 1 1/2 Wildcat formation with everyone on the planet seeing Ware coming in to the game right before the play. - MOST CRITICAL
* After converting a first down to the Alabama 32 with 2 minutes left, RUNNING 3 straight times instead of getting ONE MORE FIRST DOWN and thus, three kneel-downs, and we beat Bama 17-14, holding Alabama to 0 first downs, 0 yards passing and 40 yards total offense in the entire second half.
(Of course, had Alleman made the 45 yard FG, it's 20-14 and more time runs off the clock on the FG, the kickoff, etc as Bama had no timeouts left.)
These last two were particularly daunting, as all Miles had to do was throw to RB in the flat or along LOS to the sideline like we were successful at the whole game !!!!
Or maybe the pass to TE for the TD that was nullified, or a slant to Landry.
Also, Chavis playing a more pressing defense on the last drive would have been nice, and making sure we tackle the Bama receivers IN BOUNDS !!!!!
(Of course the handful of Montgomery's jersey that Barrett Jones had balled up in his fist was not called. Bama NEVER holds of course.)

The onside kick in the Sugar Bowl.
I stopped reading right here. Also, what's up with on-the-field player discipline? Do you think that will be addressed this season? Penalties hurt Florida last season.

He's just not a bonehead sort of guy.
Ask Houston fans what they think about the conference championship game vs Southern Miss.
Dude has made bonehead calls before A&M. That entire game I just mentioned is an example. Despicable performance from a team that was undefeated and looking to go to a BCS game then completely shite the bed against a VERY poor Southern Miss team.

ETA: it was a 49 yarder. But Cade can be inconsistent when under pressure and he gets a bad rap cause he only gets to kick the long ones.... But still down by 14-10 midway through the third I say punt and play D.
A 49 yard kick is very makable. Absolutely no reason to punt.

We've had a problem with penalties since Spurrier left. For some reason, FSU and Miami have been the same way. Too much tpos in the sunshine state.
I think it'll get better under Boom though (the guy that threw the punch in the Louisville game was told to either transfer or leave the team as soon as the game was over).

Continually trotting Cade Foster and Jeremy Shelly out onto the field to attempt long FGs against LSU in 2011 even though it quickly became obvious that we'd have a much better shot at picking up 3 or 4 yards on 4th down than either of them getting the ball in the same zip code as the goalposts on anything beyond 35 yards.
Saban hasn't really had a lot of WTF were you thinking moments. He has made a lot of decisions that didn't work out, but they weren't necessarily bad decisions.
Wasn't even his worst decision in that game. He had trouble navigating the Maze, who single-handedly murdered Bama in that game.

Honestly, I haven't really seen a boneheaded move from Sumlin yet.
So we're not counting the air it out even though we are running well against LSU last year? He got beat by the wind. That's as boneheaded as it gets.

I will select as my Miles moment (just to complete his anthology, not that this is the MOST boneheaded) one that worked but only because its utter fricktardery made it so improbably. The fake punt in his first game as LSU coach against Arizona State. LSU was punting from the 10. Fake punt. Madness.
