Honestly, Sumlin over-achieved with the talent that A&M has on defense. We are still a couple of years from being able to field a real SEC defense. Our DC is massively underrated given what he did with our guys last year.

I think Richt centering the ball on 2nd down and kicking the FG in OT against MSU has to be the pussiest/most boneheaded coaching call I've seen in a while.

More pussy than plain stupid I guess

That was pretty dumb, too.

I could see why he didn't want to take any risks because Murray was shaky and our offensive line play was horrendous in that game.

His biggest mistake was putting too much trust in Walsh making the kick after such a bad senior season.

fake punt attempt on the opening drive of the 09 bcscg. I know it was a formation based option but the option never should have been there. it was like 4th and 13 or something.

Willie Martinez at DC turned out to be a pretty boneheaded move for Richt.

Some might say our self-imposed drug suspension policy affects wins and losses a ton.

Making Kirby Smart the runningbacks coach at UGA ranked up there for me.

Admittedly there's not much to work with . In the future I can see a failed fake punt or onside kick being called a bonehead move (that would have been considered ballsy and brilliant if it worked). But not much else. He's just not a bonehead sort of guy.

The previous two HC's though... there's a treasure trove there.

miles has several famously bad decisions:

ole miss game - time management
tennessee game - time management again (that dooley blundered even worse)
PSU game - time management again
2011 BCS NCG (sticking with what wasn't working)

Time management at the end of the Tennessee game but was overshadowed by the even bigger blunder by Dooley.

Burning Tony Temple's Redshirt for 3 carries vs Nebraska after suspending Damien Nash (RIP) for questioning play call of having 4th string RB take big 4th down carry vs Okie St., leads to Nash's suspension and then him leaving for the NFL after the season.

How about icing your own kicker not once but twice.

How about running a fake punt on 4th and 11 in your own end of the field in the 4th quarter of a tight game against a team that you couldn't run on all day.

Going with Jefferson the entire game on 1/9. Obviously spiking it with 1 second left was dumb but the title wasn't riding on it.

Could write a book.

Co-DCs pretty much ruined a whole season.

I think we owe it to the LSU fans to let them have the first 5 pages of this thread.

I wouldn't put that one on Miles. That fricking PSU linebacker laid on top of Scott for about a minute and refused to get up, finally having to get pulled off by the refs.
