This is the most frustrating for me. QBs come and go, but a defense should always be hitting.

The offense sputtered before getting the ball and the defense collapsed on the first play?

Now with the new QB, they're all excited. I mean they're disappointed they won't be 15-0, but 14-1 is fine.

Well, if excitement is all that wins games, you should be in good shape. Was the team NOT excited the first three games?

You are correct. And I really don't know a solution to that. You either love to hit or you don't. If anybody can straighten it out, I would think Muschamp can. It might take a year or two, though. He will recruit players with a different attitude.

Florida's defense hasn't collapsed the past several years, even though their offense has been pretty bad.

It's possible. Rumors of fights among the players are floating around and one of their best players are at the center of a couple of those rumors. However, they are only rumors, so take it for what it is worth.

I don't think they are as bad as they have looked, they have some play makers on both sides of the ball.

Defenses learn to hit and be nasty in practice. It's obvious the Auburn practices are soft. They looked like a high school team against LSU. This is something that won't be fixed overnight or at all. This is why you have summer camp.

I agree that they have the talent, so what is their problem?
Chemistry?
Coaching?
Lack of motivation?

Yes and no. I've played with and against some pretty decent players. Some guys are just soft and no matter the practice they just avoid contact. IF a player has some fire in them they can learn contact in practice, though.

A college player at a place like Auburn should never be soft. But if you practice soft you will play soft. This applies from Peewee to the NFL.

LSU has a crappy QB, wins SEC and plays in BCSCG.

Auburn has a crappy QB, excuses.

Yup, everything seems back to normal.

I tried to tell AU fans that Muschamp wasn't going to fix the headcases at AU in a single season, and that it would take a lot of work, but NOOOOOO...

I don't think Muschamp has a lot of motivation to make a respectable D. He is getting paid a lot of money from Aubren and UF. He is probably just cruising this year. I just don't see him as a long term solution.

You only have to look back one year...

Auburn 41 LSU 7..

Auburn outgained LSU 566-280,

Marshall led scoring drives on each of Auburn's first four possessions, while LSU failed to get a first down on five of its opening six.

JJ was seen as the chosen one, he could play like crap and keep his job while the coaches said how good he was.. they are getting chewed or lose their position when they screw up....

LSU's greatest trick was convincing everyone it had systemic defensive problems, when the only issue was starting DJ Welter for 16 games and playing him big minutes in a handful more.

State thought they were awesome and would continue to be, Auburn thought they were five touchdowns better than LSU. LSU fans told them, they refused to listen. Then, they got hit by the bus. Continue to mis-analyze 2014 at your own peril, sons.

Not flaming, but your coach makes nearly $4M/year. Shouldn't he kinda know that by now? Did it really take a slew of interceptions and actually throwing the ball backwards for them to think, "maybe this isn't our guy."
