We're not the ones blaming "teh Refs!" every time we don't get the outcome we wanted.
You've all obviously known about their incompetence for quite some time given your history of widespread crying like spanked-arse babies every week.
We just got here.
They're YOUR incompetent officials, and YOU are the ones crying about it on a weekly basis.
Go picket their offices and follow them home from work like the stalker you appear to be online, slapdick.

quote:Yesterday was the first Saturday of fooball season I could sit on my arse and watch CFB from kickoff to the final whistle. I even got to watch Cal vs. SDSU. You know I'm not a fan of the Barn, but first off I was blown away by the fans in Norman. It's like they took the worst from Knoxville, Starkville, and then filled up the rest of the stadium with the lot lizards and pill dealers from every truck stop in between.
Murph you have done solid work!
The scoop and score that was ruled an incomplete could have been called a incomplete, could have been called down by contact, and could have been ruled a fumble. There was absolutely no video evidence to overturn the call on the field.
The ACC does their reviews remote.MLB does all reviews in New York. The umps just announce the call that New York makes. The SEC needs to institute something similar.
I just showed how Michigan tried this 10 years ago and it was ruled a penalty. Georgia Tech and Notre Dame both tried it in 2009. The ACC and PAC-10 both later came out later and said the refs on the wrong for not calling a penalty. Ole Miss pulled it off in 2023 (skip to 1:30) and the SEC never issued a statement.
Our officiating in this league sucks.
And the Sooners on here are not just ignoring that, but disagreeing with that (just see in this thread where you have people clearly not understanding the hideout rule, and making excuses for an obvious DPI) while not appreciating that this is a refereeing problem and Oklahoma just happened to be the ones who benefited from it this Saturday. I've read where the WR "checked in" with the Ref that Ms. Charlotte highlighted. WRs don't check in. They tell the Ref if they are on or off the LOS.
The booing at Gaylord after a clear incomple pass that this crew decided to review which gave OU a de facto timeout when they were out of them was something else where I got more of a Morgantown vibe than an SEC vibe, because they didn't understand that they just got a free time out.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying to watch a sport you don't fully understand. I do that with hockey. But I'm not going on NHLRant.com to defend some refereeing just because whatever team I pull for came out on top of several bad calls.

Do we all agree (including Oklahoma fans) that the initial ruling on the field matters a shite ton? Oklahoma presents Austin, the rules expert as the ultimate authority but he is a mouth piece that saw nothing conclusive.
I like this free-time version of Murph

Funny enough, we did call it the "Sniffer Position" when I coached Double Wing / Single Wing offenses back in the day

Do you know how many times I have seen a play and said "yeah, they probably got it wrong on the field, but frick me there isn't enough to overturn the call"?
This isn't exclusive to Georgia, Auburn, or Oklahoma. We've all been there. And yet we understand there needs to be indisputable video evidence to overturn the call. There wasn't one angle shown on that replay that should have led to the call being overturned.
They even changed the language the refs use this year from call confirmed, call stands, and call overturned to just call upheld and call overturned.
You can say he'l was down, you can say it was incomplete, and you can argue it should have been a fumble recovery. But there was zero video proof to overturn whatever the call on the field was.

It was clear to everyone (well everyone except the ref, who wasn't even looking at it as he was running out of the way), that it should have been defensive PI on OU's Williams #9, but Auburn scored a TD on that drive anyway. So it's a nothing-burger.

Yes and even if the refs threw a flag on the play they're crying about OU would of still made a FG and Auburn would of lost by 4 I can play the what if game.
