It’s fine to say they went 7-6 and finished 25th in recruiting (247 composite). I know Old School feels like a troll, but no need to stoop to that level.
I think Texas has a bright future with Herman, but this year has to be a little worrisome for Texas from an in game decision making standpoint. Texas’ OC was terrible and it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere.
At the same time, Texas A&M hired one of the 4(?) coaches who is currently coaching and won a National Championship. If anyone thinks that won’t elevate the program they’re insane.

Ah you are right. I looked at 247's. Still, it isn't elite and likely behind where Jimbo finishes. So something about glass houses and stones seems to fit here.

For sure. Very difficult to have a good first class when you're program has been struggling. Jimbo is a little bit bigger name than Herman, so I would expect his to be slightly better, but not by much. The first full class Jimbo will have I expect to be great. He might not reach the composite score Texas will get this year, just because I'm not sure A&M can take 30 commits next year like Texas will have this season. It was also a little bit easier this year for Texas not having to compete as much against the usual suspects (A&M, LSU) this year. A&M will still at least have to compete with Herman next year, but there's so much talent in the state that both school should have top 10-15 classes (I expect A&M to be top 5, Texas around 10).
Jumbo's last four classes at FSU were all top 6 with three of them being top 4. The man can recruit.

He won't recruit at that level at aTm (no FAMU, no spear, smaller brand). He just went 5-6 with the previously mentioned last 4 recruiting classes

Since OP started thread Jimbo has picked up 3 4* recruits (2 being Bama commits) and gained a handful of 2019 commitments putting A&M in the top 3 classes of 2019. Good job OP.
