At what point to Arkansas fans start to worry about their roster?
I became concerned the minute I saw we had no players left.
I don’t expect a roster full of 5 stars top to bottom, but there should be enough players left this year to make a complete roster. Under the circumstances it would be far fetched to believe we’ll continue on the current pace. I won’t be mad if I’m wrong.

Kentucky fans were butthurt Cal left them.
No one was “butthurt” (are we 12) that Cal left. After he failed to advance past the first weekend in half a decade, folks wanted him fired. He got the Tubby treatment.

Some fans wanted him fired, yet your AD wasn’t going to. Cal left on his own, and for less money. And now, y’all were forced to hire Mark Pope. Could Pope work out? Maybe, but I doubt he’ll have the record Cal had there.
The amount of copium by Kentucky fans is enormous.

Their overall composite ranking is currently 33rd nationally, 10th in the SEC. They still have a lot of work to do.
2024 SEC Basketball Overall Recruiting Rankings
2024 Kentucky Commits
How many years has it been since Kentucky didn’t sign at least one 5 star? Time is running out and there are not many left. This year may truly be historic for Kentucky. Just as Hiroshima and Nagasaki were historic for world history, Kentucky’s 2024 recruiting class may be historic for college basketball.

Cal saw the writing on the wall and had been trying to leave since January when he considered going to Ohio State. It was far more than “some” fans by the end of this last season. I don’t know anyone who wasn’t ready for him to move on after the Oakland loss with the roster he had. Anything that suggests otherwise is your revisionist history. Just like Tubby, he knew it was time to part ways and I appreciate that.

When Cal was good he was historically good for Kentucky. That would be hard to replicate for anyone. The problem for Kentucky is he hasn’t been good in almost 5 years. He’s actually been historically bad by Kentucky standards despite still pulling an incredible amount of talent.
At this point, Mark Pope looks like the right hire. He’s doing well in the portal. And most Kentucky fans are ready to get back to more consistent rosters that are actually willing to return year to year.
Again, I’m not sure why you’re so upset that most of the reasonable Kentucky fans here are ok with Cal leaving, it being of benefit to Arkansas and Kentucky.

This. It’ll work out well for both Arkansas and UK.
Absolutely love the job Pope is doing so far, and I think Arkansas fans will be happy with Cal. Not sure why the trolling from the Arky fan.

Because they're insecure and are trying desperately to convince themselves that they got one over on us, as if we're sad to see Cal gone.

Kentucky fans still talk about Cal more than Pope. Again, Kentucky fans started the shite talking, Arkansas fans fire back, and Kentucky fans get pissy over it.

Remind us whose fanbase started this thread that is *checks notes* about Kentucky?

The only revisionist history is Kentucky fans saying they fired Cal. The man was going to be Kentucky’s coach for years more unless your administration was willing to pay $35 million buyout.
Cal probably was ready to leave, 15 years is a long time. The Arkansas job is as good as you can get in the SEC after Kentucky. I’d say he landed fine and we’re excited about it.

It seems you don’t remember the threads started by Kentucky fans after Muss left and when we hired Cal? Kentucky fans were wild shite talkers.
I’ll admit, though, I’m over the Kentucky threads and ready to talk about other things.

You literally can't see the forest for the trees. Or you're just dense. I'm not sure which.
Did Kentucky officially fire Cal? No. But Cal had been looking to leave since before Muss ever left Arkansas because he stop producing at the level that was expected at Kentucky. He wasn't going to be at Kentucky for "years". He was going to get one more year under Barnhart to allow the buyout to drop.

Good for you guys. Again, it was mutually beneficial for all parties involved and multiple Kentucky fans said as much. Why is that so hard for you to grasp? Do you think Kentucky has to be shitty in order to justify that Cal was a good hire for you or something?

I really don't because those didn't exist in the abundance you are pretending they did.
And yet here you are, STILL TALKING about Kentucky. What's that say about you?

Aidoo straight quick in that elite 8 game. He was leaving at that point because Barnes doesn’t put up with that nonsense. So he chased an NIL dollar for his last year playing organized basketball in the US. Maybe Cal let’s him play outside and miss a ton of threes to keep him engaged but when tasked with playing in the box he can’t do it.

This is a very 2000s view of recruiting, as if the pool is limited to high school recruits.
Kentucky will get a good squad.
