The conference as a whole has been stacked for awhile now with a lot of good teams. But what year was the best with whole lot of teams being real good?

For me it’s 2011.

LSU ,Alabama, UGA, Arkansas, Florida, AU,
Ole miss, and South Carolina were all ranked I believe at one point in time or finished ranked. Such a fun year for me except the ending. But it was basically the conference beating each other up and who was left standing. Great quality of teams.

Yep. Because the SEC is better when South Carolina is good.

And better with Stephen Garcia.

Definitely not.

Aggays and UGA were the only “good teams” you could say. Florida in the “decent” tier imo.

2012 is a good one.

Aggays, UGA, Florida, LSU, Bama, and South Carolina were all top tier teams I think. Was Auburn good that year? 2013 I think is when they went to the title game.

2010 in the west was pretty good, Auburn, LSU, Arky, and Alabama all had really good teams.

Would all 14 conference teams beating programs like Middle Tennessee State, Northwestern State, Troy and The Citadel have made 2020 a better season?

Hell no.

You Bammers don’t realize the good teams that come out of the OOC. For examples
LSU v Texas
Auburn v Oregon
Texas AM v Clemson

But all you mention is these cupcake teams.

That 2011 season was tough to beat top to bottom wise

We went 3-9 (0-8) and fired Chizik at the end of the year. Lost to Bama 49-0 and Georgia 38-0 and probably should've went 2-10 cuz we barely beat Louisiana-Monroe we won by a field goal... in overtime So unless that qualifies as good then no we weren't. we somehow managed to give Top 5 LSU a game and lost by 2 points 12-10

For baseball wouldn’t it be 2011 also?

3 teams went to the final 4 of the CWS with SC winning it all over UF.

Yep. IMHO 2011 Bama was more impressive then last years Bama team.
Quality of team they beat were better. And they played significantly better defenses.

Auburn wasn't scheduled to play Oregon this year and Texas A&M wasn't scheduled to play Clemson either.

Talking about 2019 the year where things were “normal” and football was played for real.

I’d also say 2007 deserves some consideration.

#1 and #2 in the final rankings were from the SEC, and three additional teams finished in the top 15.

Eta: several others were ranked at some point, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, etc.
