As long as Crean's seat is even lukewarm at IU, Stevens isn't going anywhere either.

I do think Smart would get a look from Louisville. They might try to go for someone like Donovan, but I don't see them getting him.

I was just throwing out names of programs. I think he'd get a sniff, but that wasn't really the point. I just think he's holding out for a very good job, and I think it was the smart way of going about things. Why jump at the first thing offered when he's pretty sure he can win consistently at VCU and retain his status as a top coaching prospect?

I'd be beyond shocked if he went to State though. Maybe they could get Marshall.

that's a different set of circumstances. NC State is in a state, let alone conference with Duke and UNC.

VCU has as similar set of circumstances with the other schools with rich basketball tradition located in Richmond and in Virginia....

As soon as he has won enough to demand a high stud fee...

Supposedly in 2017. I think he goes before that though.

I'd do this if we got Gregg Marshall.

Shaka is no dumbass. Why go to NC State and have to recruit against Duke & UNC for top recruits. Easy choice

Then why go to Miss St, where he has to recruit to Miss St.

He looks awful and the natives are getting restless because he's really underperformed with his roster the last few years. He doesn't even come out and do pressers after a loss, he sends his son out instead. Things are not well in Cardville.

I would be surprised if Marshall went to State. Granted, I don't know what he's making, but you can win at Wichita, they have great fan support, and he could be trying to hold out for a better job too.

But then again I've been a bit surprised that he hasn't apparently even gotten a sniff at some of the jobs that have come open lately (Tennessee for example). So he might be willing.

Recruiting has not been Stansburys downfall. Being an Aubrun fan, I can understand the retarded comment.

State basketball fans are about as delusional as OM football fans when it comes to hiring a head coach.

I hope we land someone who can get it done, but I'm not getting my hopes up for Shaka, Tubby, Brad Stevens, and such like I've seen posted.

Shaka is a long shot.
