There were a lot of kids in our neighborhood and we played ball on the school playground. Didn’t get to play organized ball and high school didn’t have a team back then. I hate I missed out, but we had fun.

Brings back some great memories of my old neighborhood's marathon wiffle ball games. One kid down the street had a huge yard and we'd play for hours. Those point-blank "bean ball' outs were awesome

SCRA (South Cherokee Recreational Association) Youth Baseball. Although we played teams from North Cobb too. Probably been killed off by travel ball though.

Tball
Confederate (Coach Pitch)
Dixie Minor
Dixie Youth
Dixie Boys

Been awhile but I believe you could not lead off the bag in Dixie Youth, so they changed it to “Ozone” sometime after me.

I doubt Confederate is still the name of coach pitch.

No, but thanks, haha.

I had my brother’s hand me down glove and my cracked wooden bat was repaired with electrical tape. I was so lucky to have grown up where I did with all those friends. We weren’t rich but we didn’t know it. It’s amazing looking back now how much I learned and how much fun I had without adult supervision.
