What was the controversy at the end of the ND vs BYU game about?

I didn’t get to see it but heard something mentioned about it on ESPN last night. Seems like they were talking about another clock issue or something with 1 second left. I didn’t get to watch much ball yesterday at all so I missed the play. I did see FSU totally get hosed by a holding call that ended up costing them the game. The ND issue though I missed. If someone can explain it to me it would be much appreciated.

Clear interference wasn't called, and there should have been one second on the clock. Focus on the no-call interference caused everyone to miss the one second.

Byu fans prematurely ejaculated and stormed the field

The officiating in these games every week is getting worse and worse every year. You know the refs really assed everything up when they allow ND to be screwed over and lose a game.

Ball hit the ground with .01 on the clock. By the time anyone realized it, half of the Mormon population was on the field celebrating.
Add to this Michigan was undeservedly given an extra .01 earlier this year and it's more gas being tossed on the talking points fire.
I don't really have a huge problem with the no call pass interference. They were letting them grapple all night and it's generally understood that refs keep the flag in their pocket on final plays unless it's egregious - and even egregiousness happens on hail mary jump balls.

ND lost and the media is mad
They let the DB's play physical all game and it was physical on the last play

I thought it probably was pass interference but it wasn't nearly as blatant as some people are making it out.
If it wasn't the last play of the game they probably call it most of the time. On a final play like that they are hesitant to throw flags

Especially on a Mormon team in a building built by the trillion dollar cult

Did you see the PI call on Auburn late in the Auburn vs Georgia game? I was flipping between the Alabama and Auburn games on the radio yesterday. I had just went back to that game and the Auburn radio crew was going nuts over that call. It was either a PI called on Auburn or a PI no call. I think it was Auburn got nailed for PI. The Auburn broadcast crew though was blowing up about it. Was it PI or just a bs call?

The moral of this story is get far enough ahead so one damn call does not make the difference in the game! It’s hard to do, but I don’t begrudge coaches running up the score like I used to because of this BS. And I hate instant replay because of shite like this too. Seems like the game was more fun before we could analyze every single tenth of a second on every play!!

The throw being terrible didn’t help

The ball went 20 ft over his head out of bounds. Whats bullshite is it was uncatchable unless he climbed on ths AU players back and jumped. They, even the "expert" somehow claimed it was catchable. Maybe by the water boy behind the bench.

Sc got screwed on this in 2011 vs auburn. Kept us out of the SEC Championship game.
Yes I have a long memory.

I don’t either, mainly as the BYU guy did turn his head and look for the ball, that usually keeps the flag in the pocket.

Craziest thing is no one at ESPN said anything during the broadcast. I have a hard time believing no one in that booth noticed the clock on the field having one second keft while the ball is on the ground.
Fowler on footage from the booth even made some kind of hand gesture.

Notre Dame lost. So obviously it wasn't their fault.

The ball was just out of reach of the receiver and wasn’t even close to even landing out of bounds.

Yeah, that ball was catchable alright... 5 yards out of bounds.
