What would I do if I were other conferences? Well, I would try to undermine them. You're not going to beat them on an even plane. Say they cheat, scream about oversigning, say don't care about academics, are racists, play nobodies, rig the system, get lucky, etc., etc.

And...don't they already do this? lol

Yea, that was my point. They're doing all they can. Not much else to do really.

I should've put "oh wait."

It all comes down to stud D linemen. If you look at where the DL guys drafted are from, its usually the south. Until then, they're only going to get worse.

The main thing is that the top college programs need to get back to elite status. USC, Texas, Nebraska, Penn State, and Miami have all fallen off big-time from where they used to be. And while Michigan, Oklahoma, and Florida State have solid programs, they all have the potential to be much stronger than they are. Notre Dame and Ohio State are the only traditional powers that are living up to their potential right now. Everybody else is either struggling or treading water. If the top programs from other conferences performed at a higher level, the SEC wouldn't be so far ahead of the pack.

Win a MNC. If ND beats Bama, then the mystique of invincibility of the SEC will leave and you will see others start to compete better. We just have momentum right now. Hell the rest of the country had to hold on for 2 weeks and the SEC would've been left out, but they couldn't last a week under the pressure.

Plenty of schools spend enough money, they just need to win once. When that happens, things will even out a bit more, imo.

This. Also I would say that other regions of the country need to start putting at least half of their best athletes on defense starting at the junior-high or high school level.

I feel like in Big12 country or the West Coast for example, the most athletic kids are automatically made into RBs and WRs when in the south our coaches will at least consider making them LBs and CBs instead. It starts from the ground up.

They are already there. It just that the other conferences eat each other's lunch every season.

Exactly. Any SEC team fan who doesn't know the main reason is uninformed. LINK
