Hiring a coach with zero proven success is the first "wrong" thing. Secondly, the entire athletic department is a complete disaster. Handing over NIL to an outside company could not be going any worse. 0 recruits signed for next year?

Pope is in over his head but the entire university is going in the wrong direction.

You aren't wrong about any of this. Barnhart screwed us, and we are going to be stuck with the jmi AD

Injury. Pope hasn’t had a healthy squad since he got there.

It is not the lack of NIL money. They double up most of the rest of the SEC

Kentucky has rich history as a blueblood and nothing will change that. They have one of the top jobs in the game and just need a great head coach.

So was Indiana. We're trending dangerously close to Indiana territory.

Coaching. UK will be fine when they get an elite coach...Duke, Kentucky, UNC will not settle for 2nd class coaching at all.

Does Kentucky have a GM or portal person? Seems like a huge help to coaches (if they are open to admitting they can use the help)

Pope will be back next season before a change is made, so we all just have to play the waiting game. Maybe a miracle happens next year, but I doubt it. We get a new AD in a few months. Change is coming. All we can do is wait and see.

We had our entire roster healthy and available this season for a total of 3 games......and we lost two of them to Alabama who smoked our arse and fricking Missouri who had never won in Lexington ever.

People who cite injuries as a legitimate excuse for this season have their head up their arse.

Kentucky Sports Radio

They said after the St. Peters loss that Cal was still the man for the job.

I wouldnt put much stock in what they say. Joke of a show.

Program is poor because we went from an apathetic coach to a panic hire because Baylors coach said no. We had one and done for years so not like there was much of a roster for our new coach. Maybe Pope can get things turned around next year. Maybe not.

I hope that this will lead to more of a commitment to football by the university and boosters honestly. KSR liked to whine about Stoops but the dude won games he shouldnt have with a shoe string budget, including this past year. Our football team could be successful given more resources. Meanwhile the basket ball team is a sponge for money and provides mediocrity
