From a fan of the team that named itself after a woman's menstrual cycle emission and adopted the color of it.

The LSU tampons need to win the next 30 contests against the Alabama menstrual cycle to take a lead in the series. LSU has only won 27 all time. Seems doubtful.

the colors were those of the unit or something but not about that

You think a volunteer civil war unit wore/displayed purple and gold?

Louisiana tigers does come from the civil war days as the regiment of Louisiana tigers In Northern Virginia under Brig Gen Hayes

However, at that same time the previous president of LSU, and the 1st ever was William T Sherman, the famous, well loved union general.

Hold on now. Can we not come together In our Common hero?

William T Sherman shares iconic history with both Missouri, LSU, and to some extent the state of GA. However the latter has a different interpretation. They’re not important though. What is important is we have a commonality not just with our mascot but the legendary General.

Do you know what some of the Zouaves wore into battle? They would have put Liberace to shame.

I don’t think their heart is the only place some of them feel a tender glow.
