Do LSU fans even try to dispute this? I work with several who readily admit this.

I will admit it because of the crime, but the campus is nice and the food is the bomb. So I will say Starkville, MS is probably a bigger shithole overall.

But not the University area, River/Convention area, State Capital grounds, South and Southeast Baton Rouge.

I don't know may visitors to Baton Rouge who fly in and immediately ask for an Uber to North Baton Rouge.

Keeping the university out of the argument, Austin is in the running for one of the worst. Lawlessness abounds. It’s not a good place anymore.

Austin sux. Hugely. It’s a liberal shithole city. Texas fans keep trying to hang on to the idea of a beautiful fun town. That’s about a 30 year old fantasy. Truth is, it’s been overrun by California liberals, they defunded police dept. causing big street crime and homelessness problems, the DA refuses to support the police, unbelievable traffic congestion, unrestricted building ruining the old neighborhoods, unaffordable housing, a mass murderer on the loose along town lake, and so much more. The famed 6th street entertainment district is about dodging drug addicts, needles, shite piles, psychotics.

It’s been cleaned up a lot. And even then, it wasn’t on par with what you see at a lot of major cities.

Is that the one that was hitchhiking around the ghetto looking for hookers and blow?

I think he just found a little more hood than he was looking for.

Harry, that's not what happened at all.

That "family man" was hunting for pussy and blow.

These are all problems that also plague Baton Rouge too though to be fair, and Austin still has a lot less crime.

Baton Rouge's problems could still be fixed though, if they got rid of their shitbird mayor and police chief.

But with a >50% minority population, fat chance of that. I have a feeling almost every city in the country is going to need federal intervention to restore law and order in our lifetimes.

I find it to be quite charming.

It's a sleepy place for certain, but our gameday experiences there have been universally positive. And thems "good people". Starkvegas is far from the bottom on SEC road trips in my ranking.

I keep hearing this over and over again, and I believed it. Then a couple weeks ago I went to Austin for a few days...it's a perfectly fine place with a great food scene. Yeah, there's homelessness, but which city doesn't have that right now? I expected San Francisco but got clean streets and a good time.

I feel bad for his family.

quote:

Millard, 42, went missing the night of Feb. 22 after attending an LSU basketball game and visiting a downtown bar with a business client.

According to the arrest warrant for Guidry, after leaving the downtown bar, Millard stopped at the Greyhound bus station in Baton Rouge to withdraw money from an ATM when he was approached by a bus station employee who offered him help. Millard declined the offer, telling the employee he was "looking for something to make him feel better," and that he was "looking for a girl to take back to his room." Witnesses told police Millard then left the station with a homeless man, referred to in police documents as "J.W.", who introduced Millard to two other people, identified as "L.M." and "C."

Millard, L.M. and C then met with Perkins, who told police he took the group to buy drugs. The four then drove around for a few hours while getting high on crack cocaine before stopping at a Circle K on Nicholson Drive, where Millard was last seen alive on video surveillance shortly before 4:30 a.m. Feb. 25, the document says.
