I say this not trying to troll but more so trying to see what I am missing. I may have watched UT play 2 or 3 games all last season, so I don't know them that well. I have been hearing Dobbs name come up a lot lately and figured he must be pretty good.

However, I decided to learn more about him and looked up his numbers to find he only threw 9 touchdowns to 6 interceptions. His completion percentage is 63% which is good but not great. Where is all the hype coming from for this guy? His numbers are mediocre to bad. To put it into perspective, Anthony Jennings threw 11 touchdowns to 7 interceptions.

There is one good, proven quarterback coming back in the entire conference and it is the Dak Knight. Maybe Towles but he hasn't won enough.

I love how everyone leaves off his rushing statistics.

Probably because he scored 17 TDs in his final 6 games with a terrible OL, gimp Jalen Hurd, and a decimated WR corp.

Tennessee wouldn't have been bowl eligible without him last year. He literally ran QB draws all game against Vandy.

Furthermore, NFL scouts and cfb analysts love Dobbs. He is an elite athlete at QB, with a photographic memory and coach-like mentality/disposition.

The SEC has so many unknowns at QB this year. Give me some QBs you'd undoubtedly take over Dobbs.

He's going to disappoint a lot of UT fans. This is going to be very funny

He had plenty of opportunities to throw the ball to vandy's defense?

Pass yds-2,717
Pass tds- 20.28
Int- 13.52
Rush yds-1053
Rush tds- 18

Dobbs' numbers multiplied over a full season.

Your "mediocre" argument is idiotic at best.

...the stupidity on this forum never ceases to amaze me.

Disappointment is a possibility.

With the Jennings/Harris shitshow at QB, disappointment is a guarantee.

20 td 13 int : super mediocre
2700 yards: mediocre
1000 rushing yards: pretty swell
18 rushing TDs: very good

The issue is, his rushing is only average so he would get decent totals from a large # of attempts, and taking a large % of red zone opportunities.

He averages less than 7 yards per pass and 4.5 yards per rush which isn't bad at all for a running back, but it's actually pretty mediocre for a running quarterback.

Like I said, didn't watch much of UT last year so I wanted to hear more about him. No need to get so defensive, little pansy boy.

Dak, Kyle Allen, Towles, and Brandon Allen.

Not defensive at all. Sorry for the misunderstanding. This is just how I talk to all people that are intellectually beneath me.

Dobbs was able to last nearly 2 seconds after the snap before getting sacked or being forced to scramble compared to Worley being sacked after just 0.21 seconds.

He also faced much harder competition than Worley. Teams like Vanderbilt and Kentucky and whatnot.

Brandon Harris 2014
Passing 25/45 452 yards 6TD 2 Ints
Rushing 26 att 159 yards 3TD
Plays at QB 71

J Dobbs 2014
Passing 112/177 1206yds 9TD 6INT
Rushing 104 att 469 8TD
Plays 281

So actually Brandon Harris was more productive. Dobbs got almost 4x the snaps and really did nothing.
So if Harris is a shite show how do you describe Dobbs

Just a refresher course for tRant.

Space Dobbs

That's what we call 4.3 speed at the QB position folks. The guy looks like he's taking a boring jog in the park most of the time while completely out running defensive angles.

Also has elite intelligence, quickness, and foot speed. Good arm strength.

His deep ball accuracy could use work and he's improved upon that this offseason.

Really don't see what's NOT to like about the kid.

Get over your hatred of everything orange and white and watch the guy play.

15 more days.

...so ready to bump some of these dumbass threads.

He'd be undefeated in the Big 10. He doesn't run a 4.3, but he is very fast. He's a good looking college qb and he appears to be one of the most athletic qbs the SEC has to offer. I think Jeremy Johnson is more likely to be a disappointment than Dobbs, but Dobbs will have to do a lot for Tennessee to be successful.
