I didn’t think he’d survive the season after Georgia State, but he’s now won 4 of 5 with the only loss being a decently competitive game at Bama. With Mizzou and Vandy coming up he could finish 7-5 and make a decent bowl game.

Is he winning some of you Tenn fans back over?

I definitely feel better than I did after the 1st couple weeks of the season altgough i'm still not exactly sure why those 2 weeks had to happen

it does kinda seem like butch jones lingering stench is finally starting to get away from the program. We need to keep up the momentum from the 2nd half of the season and recruit and we'll have a way better idea next year.

If he wins out most everyone will be fully back in. Unlike Chad Morris or Willie Taggert, it seems like the players love playing for him and the fact that he didn't lose the lockerroom early in the season is encouraging. Plus all of his recruits from the past 1-2 years are all getting better and look like they belong in bigtime SEC football. If we get our QB situation figured out, this core has a chance to be pretty good sooner than some casual SEC followers may think. Big if though.

The Georgia State debacle will always be unforgivable, but he has made strides overall as a head coach throughout the year. The team is noticeably more physical and has been playing with their hair on fire ever since the Georgia game.

I'm certainly not gonna crown him as "the guy" yet as he has much left to prove, but things look a hell of a lot better than they did just 5 weeks ago. After the parlay of the Kiffin/Dooley/Butch eras, I'm done anointing coaches until the results speak for themselves.

Would love to see us circle the wagons on the recruiting trail and outbid anyone in recruiting. NCAA be damned. We gotta fix Tennessee football once and for all. We are too passionate, prideful, and resourceful of program to suck for as long as we have. Hopefully the past 10 years is just something like LSU went through in the 90s. Tennessee no longer being a joke in HS football helps too.

It does suck realizing how we would likely be en route to a 9-3 record in year 2 without those embarrassing coat-hanger abortions. Hopefully in the long run it amounts to something like the Saban UAB loss at LSU and his ULM loss at Alabama (not saying Pruitt can/will become an elite Saban-like coach).

Granted the SEC is top heavy this year. Everyone is a dumpster fire in their own way outside of the top 5 teams. But the effort and attitude, especially from the freshman/RS freshman/sophmores that Pruitt has personally recruited gives us hope.

Who knows, coaches (the good ones) learn and evolve on the job. Hell, just 15 years ago Ed O was universally considered as one of the worst SEC head coaches of all time. Now Coach O is on the verge of winning a goddamn natty. Not that a program like Ole Miss has a chance at ever being elite. Programs like LSU gives any coach a chance to kick arse and take names. I still believe, even after our lost decade, a place like Tennessee gives a competent coach every chance to succeed in a big way.

Good stuff. It’s good for the SEC for Tenn to be relevant again.

Pruitt is a good football guy and kids like him. If Jeremy doesn't sabotage himself the Vols will continue to improve.

Pruitt has done a great job, just when I thought he lost control or never had control to begin with. Hopefully, they can start competing with the red team.

Very true and that's why in pre-season I picked UT to go 8-4 or 9-3; the competition sucks too and Pruitt actually does have considerably more roster talent than MSU, UK, Vandy, Mizzou. Outside of the slow start, Pruitt's done about what he should.

It's hard to say much about any team in the SEC right now, especially with all the QB turnover, other than LSU looks impressive.

Look how hard his team is playing for him after that disastrous start. Compare that to how Arkansad and Scar quit on their coaches. Pruitt is doing an awesome job

I mean it’s true. How can someone win big and consistently at a place like Ole Miss? Too many obstacles to overcome, I’ll always say til proven otherwise that there’s only six SEC programs with a national championship ceiling in football.

Alabama, LSU, Auburn,UGA,Florida and Tennessee. All the other programs will always have the Big 6 standing in their way on any given season. Maybe Texas A&M can, but until they do should we really give them the benefit of the doubt as a program for another 100 years?

Hell, when was the last time anyone outside of the Big 6 even won an SEC title? I honestly don’t think it’s happened in my lifetime.

Probably 80% at this point. Still nowhere near where we need to be, but as of last month, we seem to be finally beating teams we should be beating. Improvement from September to October is unbelievable.

The in game adjustments are something we haven't seen here in a long time.

We've only given up a combined 21 second half points over the past 5 games. 7 of those were given up against our reserves in the UAB game in junk time.

For the most part, the other schools fans pretty much know their role. Arkansas fans know that their ceiling is an SEC west title once in a fan’s lifetime. Same with ole miss. Kentucky and State make statues and giant posters for a decent bowl game. A sugar or cotton bowl is about as good as it gets for them.

The two that has not accepted their place yet is Mizzou and aTm. These two insufferable twits will never be much more than State or Kentucky. All they will ever do is play spoiler to a big 6 team’s great year and possibly get in a New Year’s six bowl once a decade. These two need to be brought to heel and taught their places. These two need to be smashed over and over to drive home the fact of who and what they are. Once they finally accept the fact that their place in the SEC is fixed with no real hope of improvement and their programs are stagnant, they may become bearable.
