CFB isn't going away and I think the fans will always be watching.
I think it might be on a trend towards being more fully a professional football league, which, I believe would be more intellectually honest than it would be to maintain the fantasy that these are amateur college students who hope to graduate one day and obtain gainful employment in their scholastic fields of study, but in the meantime are playing football on their beloved school's football team.
Let's be honest - these are young athletes who are now professional athletes. They are looking to become millionaires by playing football for a college team. They aspire to play in the NFL, but, in the meantime, they desire to make college play as profitable as possible for themselves.
The school that can hire the best football players will be The Champion.

I used to love following recruiting. That’s gone

The transfer portal makes it where you don't know your team year to year. Conference expansion suck, I couldn't care less about watching Oklahoma play state. And the playoff is terrible, no way a 3 loss team should have a chance at a National Title

There’s literally zero loyalty in the sport anymore….players just go to the team that’s the highest bidder.
For instance, why would I care to watch a bunch of Memphis players in an Arkansas uniform? Bc that’s what our team will be next year. I feel no attachment whatsoever to any of the coaches or players on our team

Our football team is just as bad as our basketball team this year. But not permanently.

You guys are funny. Did a UGA fan really post he was tired of seeing 26 year olds while he was barking loud watching Stetson win back to back without a degree in hand?
And Bama fans saying they are getting disinterested at the same time their team is getting boat raced by 35 by freaking Indiana.
You guys have no clue how stupid you sound. It's easy being a fan when you win. I don't see Kentucky, Arkansas, Vandy, Indiana, Virginia, NC State, GT fans whining and acting like kindergarteners. It's because they are true fans who aren't rooting for their team only when they win.
Next year if we end up with a Bama/UGA National Title game everyone of you band wagon fans will be here chirping and we won't hear one word from you how other teams got hosed.
If you don't like your team anymore then freaking leave. You'll be easily replaced by fanbases that are growing. Indiana just "took over" Mercedes Benz which many of you brag about doing every year. Clearly, it's not that hard to do if the freaking Indiana fanbase just did it. It's all about winning and your teams no longer have the monopoly on paying players and winning. College football is going thru its greatest revival ever and many of you are whining because it doesn't help your team. Pretty funny stuff.

You need to get back on your medication. A post on SEC Rant shouldn’t bother you this much.

Also, Stetson got a redshirt year and the Covid year. That’s totally reasonable given the circumstances. Unlike Pavia, Stetson’s time in junior college counted against his eligibility. Unlike Trinidad, Stetson didn’t get a bullshite medical year for having sleep apnea.

It really pisses me off that we have 26 year olds playing college football now, though.
If there was a salary cap... then they wouldn't cry to stay longer.
