So LSU doesn't know a thing or two about a "good/respectable" season in the SEC but every other school does?
Of course they do. Im not denying that. I dont start many threads on this forum more of just a reader but every time I have posted anything LSU fans just come to troll or hijack threads to talk about themselves.
I honestly just wanted to know what the big dogs (including LSU) thought would be a succesful year this year with/without JFF. But i knew if I left it at that I would get an influx of "finishing 3rd in the SEC like you always will" (which might be a legit answer, but was looking for a bit more substance)

You sound like a "Aggie Dynasty" Alter..

In general? Being very competitive with the top 2 or 3 teams, knowing that you COULD beat them, and in fact doing it now and then.
It depends on your team circumstances at the time. Coming off the hot mess we laid last year, 'good, respectable' is going to mean 3 or more SEC wins'.
Although, if we just get back to competitive and show progress from game 1 through the rest of the season, I will have to say it was a 'positive' season.
Alabama is in the unfortunate position that their fans are not going to think anything less than the SEC championship is going to be 'good, respectable'.
Once we get back to full strength, I would say 9-3 or above would be the lower limit.

Holy shite. With? 10 wins. Without? 7 wins.

Well there ya go. If you are asking a LSU (and most likely UA0 perspective...I don't think it really matters if JFF plays or not. If your asking an A&M perspective, I suppose it depends on how Coach Sumlin handles his biggest HC test to date. I suspect A&M will be just fine.
====================
Or do you mean respectable A&M season with/without JFF?
Considering the schedule I don't know that there would be a whole lot of difference.

I would love to see the response from Aggie fans if a poster from another fanbase started a thread entitled:

Then that's the thread you should have started.

What is considered a good season? I dont necessarily mean a specific answer like 10-2 win bowl game etc.
Just in general.
It depends on the program.
If you're Alabama or LSU, then you expect 10 wins minimum.
If you're Florida or Auburn, then you'd like to return to regular double digit wins, SEC Championships, and National Championship contention.
If you're Georgia or South Carolina, you'd like to win that one more game that could push you to a Championship. Georgia hasn't won the conference since 2005. South Carolina only represented the East in one of its worst years ever and lost 56-17.
If you're Texas A&M, you'd like to continue building the program then begin maintaining your success. 11-2 in your first year was great, but the 2012 regular season was closer to 8-4 than 12-0, so there'e still plenty of work to be done. 10 or 11 wins this year would be great. Next year is supposedly when A&M fans among other expect great things.
If you're Tennessee, then I'd imagine you'd be happy with a 9-3 or 10-2 regular season which you could have achieved last season if weren't for Sal Sunseri. 9-3 or 10-2 is a great step towards becoming an SEC Title contender and perhaps a national championship contender someday.
If you're Ole Miss, you'd like to return to the days of rivaling the conference's best and winning SEC Championships. Ole Miss fans are kinda in Tennessee's boat except it's been way longer since they've tasted great success.
If you're Arkansas, you'd like to return to competing for 3rd or 4th place in the SEC West and double digit wins.
If you're Vanderbilt, you'd like to have double digit wins including a win or two over the Best of the West and/or Beasts of the East.
If you're Mississippi State, Missouri, or Kentucky, then there are countless things that would be considered a major accomplishment in your program's history — too many to list.

10 Wins and a good bowl win.....IMO a "Good Year" starts with the first Wednesday in February.....
after winning a natty in January.

Its fun to see what all the teams just not my own expect to do, or are aiming to do. Makes watching more than just the Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, USC games alot more enjoyable.
