all respectively lose to Texas, Miami, Clemson, and Oregon???

It could conceivably happen (but, not likely). If it does, good grief, are we going to hear about it here like nothing else. But, it's also conceivable that the SEC teams could make it a sweep.

Currently, LSU, Florida, and Auburn are favored to win. A&M is only a 12.5 pt underdog at Clemson (generally give 6 pts for the home team, so that's pretty close).

Is this more a testament to A&M being a legitimate threat this year (I think they are) or to Clemson's defense, which is playing at home with some new faces on the D side?

I thought it was only 3 points for home team.

What if...

Thank god Bama and Georgia represented so well in the postseason last year

My Vegas friends say it's generally 6, but some betting locations may give only 3. I'm not a betting guy, just quoting what I've been told.

That’s the rule of thumb.

I don't think there's a "rule of thumb". Depending on the betting site is what one would go by and that varies. If 3 pts in some place, I know in others it's 6. Safe to say "3 to 6" pts.

The good thing about blowing everybody out is that we played a ton of guys last year. Even on the biggest stage in college football, we rotated guys like crazy.

And the narrative is always the same when we lose players. There's no way they can replace Deshaun Watson, no way they replace Vic Beasley, no way they replace Deandre Hopkins or Sammy Watkins, Shaq Lawson, Grady Jarrett.

Keep wishing and hoping. And we will keep laughing at the excuses for your failure. Its almost been 40 years, 40 years....

LSU and/or (especially) A&M won't get killed for losing tough road games. Auburn will probably beat Oregon and Florida should stomp Miami. Florida would definitely take the most heat for losing only because of how bad Miami was last year, and I don't expect them to be much better this year. I expect the SEC to go 3-1 in these games with only A&M losing, which isn't a knock on them.

LSU 28-24
Florida 26-10
Clemson 34-17
Auburn 26-16

If that happened, the SEC would go from 26-28 against the ACC in the playoff era to 26-30 vs the ACC in the playoff era.

You mean the last 5 years? Congrat's!
That is mostly due to Clemson & FSU being 9-1 vs SC and Fla over that period, but that is changing.

You want to break down numbers with interconference play? Here you go sweet tits.

NCAA Interconference records since 1998

We can even look at just last year, when the ACC only had a winning record vs the Big 12 and had losing records to the SEC, Big 10 and Pac 12.

You were lucky to steal a 2 point win over Aggies.

No, it's not. One of those four doesn't have a prayer. Two are toss ups. One is legit favored. 1-3 is more likely than 4-0.

Mule predicts 2-2. Florida gets stunned. Auburn and LSU roll. A&M tries not to get embarrassed.
