But yet, I bet you're one of the Auburn fans that will say that though Cam Newton and his Dad asked Mississippi State for pay for play, he went to Auburn because he loved it. Yes, no, maybe? An Auburn fan chiding any other program about "the level of cheating" is a good one.
AMEN

If Saban never left LSU, he'd be in charge of a program surrounded by insanely-devoted drunk fans with extremely high expectations for success, extremely low bars for failure, and prone to wild outbursts of braggadocio while slapping their school colors on every available surface.
So not any different than what he sees now.

Definitely less. Saban was a just above average coach until he met up with the REC. Take way the talent they got him and he would be a middle of the pack coach, if he still had a job right now. It's the talent that made his success at Bama and LSU wasn't handing him that much talent.

Meh.
Saban won a MAC title at Toledo in '90 before he left for the NFL.

Bama may not have as much instate talent as LSU does but there is enough talent here to be successful, see Julio Jones, Reggie Ragland, Jameis Winston, etc. And Bama has always had a great game day atmosphere wayyy b4 Saban came enough so that its been ranked one of the most intimidating places to play in.

I agree you aren't lacking in either. My point was not to belittle but show that it's not the reason y'all are one of the most successful programs. As other programs have that too without the history of success

Better question for me is - what if he never left Michigan State?

Then they would be a dynasty. He'll with their yearly talent if they had any coach close to Saban they'd be the best.

Yes, that was what I was going for. Well, half of what I was going for. Trolling both fanbases seemed the best path to take.

greed. You are completely sane, as shown by Saban's lack of success in recruiting and winning at LSU. I mean, it's not like his recruits won a natty there and contributed at some level to a second. If they had, then your posts would be a symptom of a victim mentality. Saban was a mid-tier talent as a coach at LSU, which is why he had to take an NFL head coaching job (no college would have wanted him!) before being matched up with a cheating mentality at Bama, which FINALLY lifted him above his well-known reputation as an average coach.
this is WAY over the top man. you do not know what you are talking about.
sorry if my post offended you but I can assure you that you took it the wrong way. Saban averaged 3 losses per year at LSU. after his NC he noticeably slacked off and the record proves it. but I also was an observer and you were not. he was not even on bama's radar at that time. I am not knocking him at all even tho you thin skinned gumps seem to think your god is above human feelings. I believe he had to leave LSU for the pros to realize his true place in the football universe. he had decent success at MSU and then won the natty at LSU. he was zooming up the ladder and the NFL was the next step up. he discovered that it wasn't his place and guess what, HE SAID SO HIS frickING OWNSELF.
but, believe what you want.

LSU fans would have called for his head, not enough passing...
