For one, he has been named head coach at LSU. That is more than you have ever accomplished.

If you're trying to say it's a myth that Notre Dame has more stringent academic restrictions than most college football powers then you're just plain wrong, as usual.

Show me the admission standards for athletes at Notre Dame.

ACT Score: ______
SAT Score: _______
Entrance exams/essays?

Are we supposed to believe that a student athlete at Notre Dame is held to the same standard as any other student applying to Notre Dame? If that was the case they have a roster with 0 stars.

I bet Brian Kelly wouldn’t lose to LSUs JV team that went 6-6.

Their only standard for student athletes is that they have to “show that they have the ability to complete a degree at Notre Dame”.

Damn.

Do some research and stop making yourself look like a moron on a consistent basis.

No because he would be coaching the LSU JV team and his record would be 6-6.

Now you've edited and made a strawman argument.

No one said Notre Dame football players are held to the same academic standards as other Notre Dame students.

Are they held to a higher standard than players at the elite football programs around the country?

Yes. It's much easier for a moron athlete to play at LSU, A&M, or Alabama than at Notre Dame.

That isn't even debatable.

There is nothing that shows the academic standards for student athletes at Notre Dame. Nothing showing higher admission standards than any other school. They have to maintain a 2.0 GPA? Wow.

None of you knew it was Kelly until the media told you

SO the media had no idea about Kelly until right before he was being announced by LSU as head coach but that same media knew about all the negotiations that allegedly took place with LSU and Jimbo. Right

Aggie has never finished better than 2nd place in the SEC west. Not 2nd in the SEC. 2nd in the west.

Are you really in a place to judge?

Good one. Hope y’all are enjoying the off-season and preparing for your 11th SEC season, maybe you will win the west one of these decades.

Oh, but a simple search reveals:

quote:

At Notre Dame, that is usually 2.0, so the NCAA requirement of 90 percent would be 1.8. But the Irish choose to require a 2.0 GPA entering the athlete’s second year. On one level, there is no sign things are that hard.

There's no use in conversing with someone who simply refuses to research the topic he's attempting to debate.

That makes both of us dumber and I'm content with leaving you there alone.

Good day, sir.

Maintain a 2.0 vs a 1.8. It’s truly like Harvard trying to compete with Alabama and Georgia. You’re right. There’s no way BK could ever get within 2 scores in a NY6 bowl at a school with such high academic standards.

And you've built another strawman.

I never stated that Notre Dame's academic restrictions made them unable to compete or compared them to Harvard.

However, it could be the reason that Notre Dame classes are usually around #10 instead of top 5, or perhaps that's on Kelly himself, I guess we will find out.

You stated it was a myth that Notre Dame had higher academic standards, you're wrong. Stop trying to move the goalposts and just admit it.
