What has Brian Kelly ever accomplished?

I will hand it to him, he has accomplished 7 ten-win seasons in 12 years at Notre Dame. That’s nothing to sneeze at. However with Notre Dame being an independent, I don’t consider that to carry as much weight as a 10 win season in a P5 and definitely not the SEC West. I searched for any other accomplishments he might have had during his time at ND, and this was all I found:
Record vs top 10: 4-11
2012 @ #8 OU (OU finished #15, got blown out in cotton bowl 41-13 by A&M)
2012 @ #10 Michigan State (MSU finished 7-6, unranked)
2018 vs. #7 Stanford (Stanford finished 9-4, unranked)
2020 vs. #1 Clemson (47-40, Clemson was without future #1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence and 3 defensive starters. Clemson later beat ND 34-10 in ACC title game.)
Record vs top 25: 31-27
Bowl record: 5-5 (4-6 if you exclude vacated wins)
BCS/NY6 Bowls: 0-4
2013 BCS NC vs Bama: L 42-14
2016 Fiesta Bowl vs tOSU: L 44-28
2018 Cotton Bowl vs Clemson: L 30-3
2021 Rose Bowl vs Bama: L 31-14
His average margin of defeat in BCS/NY6 Bowl games is 22 points.
Notre Dame finished worse than their preseason ranking in 8 out of the 12 years with Kelly has head coach.
Recruiting class rankings, 2010-2021:
15 9 17 5 11 13 15 10 10 15 18 9
Recruiting class rank the year he leaves, 2022: 7th
When you add all this up, the conclusions I draw are:
-He’s around .500 vs top 25
-Doesn’t have a win vs an elite team in 12 years
-Is not an elite recruiter
You can try to argue that because of the “Academic restrictions” at Notre Dame (this is a myth , prove me wrong), it kept him from competing at an elite level. However, he had enough talent to not get blown out by 3+ scores in at least 1 of his BCS/NY6 game appearances.
I think Kelly will have no problem winning the games he is supposed to at LSU. The teams he can out recruit. I highly doubt he can beat a Bama or a Georgia with the way those programs are rolling. He has no history of even remotely competing with elite teams. With the way A&M is recruiting, with a more accomplished head coach, I can almost guarantee he will not be above .500 vs A&M either. Throw in some more top 25 opponents like Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and any given season things could get ugly.

Even with Miles and Orgeron, we usually whipped your butts. We now have a good coach. You know what is coming.

He beat Aggie for a playoff spot last year.

Well yeah, Aggie will run away from any games they are at risk of losing.
Frankly, they may never play LSU again.

Dude has won a lot of games at a high winning % throughout his head coaching career.
Has he had some setbacks??, Definitely, but the numbers prove he is a really good coach, imo

Those two deserve each other.

Imagine being so insecure that you do this level of research on the coach of a team you're not even a fan of.. just to get a handful of upvotes from your boyfriends on this board.
Bookmarked.
We beat you regularly with a swamp ogre and weaponized autism as head coaches. You think a competent coach won't do the same?

for someone who doesn't seem to think Kelly is a good coach, you sure do spend a lot of time posting on here trying to convince yourself of that

What did Saban or Miles accomplish when they were first hired to LSU?
Kelly is the most accomplished coach coming into LSU ever.
Saban and Miles won NCs and a lot of games at LSU, and they would be considered less accomplished than Kelly first coming in. That’s why Kelly will win a lot of games.
