No doubt the SEC is getting screwed. Strength of schedule must not factor into the equation at all.

I’m not saying they will have earned it or serve it but you can see the media lobbying for the sec only getting three in. People are sick of Alabama, sick of the sec dominance.

Probably SMU and Clemson both get in, and SEC down to 3 teams.
If SMU wins, either Bama, USCw, Ole Miss, Or Miami (whoever is highest in rankings tonight) will be in.
So tonight’s rankings are huge, and then Saturday night’s game is huge, but I think there is little drama going into Sunday. We will know what’s what by Saturday night.

Miami can’t sell out a home game. I doubt the powers that be are excited about how their fans will travel to an away game. Plus they have not played but one single ranked team, 23 ranked syracuse, and Miami lost.
A two loss team who has played only one ranked team should not make the playoffs.

Does SMU really get in without a single ranked win?
Probably.

So assuming Clemson wins, what does the playoff picture look like for the SEC?
If Clemson wins, I don't see how you can leave out a team that beat the acc champion, at their place, a week ago.

The real question is what happens if Clemson wins and UGA doesn't?

No one really knows and I imagine the committee itself is split about it.
It would be worst case scenario for the committee/playoff in its first year.
They either have to exclude a team that was probably in without the Conference Championship game and further fan the flames of how little sense they make.
OR
Include a team that went 0-2 against Top25 teams at the expense of a team that played over twice as many good opponents and beat 3 Top 25 teams and undermine any idea that schedule strength really matters.
Either way, the two weakest points of the whole set up are thrown into relief.
