It’s a shame because at one time the real advantage the SEC had was the ability to run the ball and stop the run, and that was largely due to really talented running backs and Dlinemen coming out of the conference. I’m sure NIL and the portal has diluted it, but it seems that scheme does play a role.
Show me what you practice, and I'll be more than happy to show you who you are. That OC in the booth and on the sideline is expressing his convictions on every call.

The sport changed. Offenses changed. Is what it is.

Well why couldn’t yall keep him?
He was 4th on the depth chart in 2024
I always feel Drink doesn’t play his freshman enough, we’ll never know how good Lacy could’ve been that year. We just had another RB transfer (Marquise Davis) who also looked good in limited action.
Drink shelved Marquise Davis for conference play so I don’t blame him for transferring. I think he’ll make his new team happy

Cfb became a qb league.
Marcus Freeman had the best explanation I’ve heard for it. He called it “fitball, not football”.
CFB has just totally gone to shite.

Look at the NFL and what they look for in a RB. Outside of Derrick Henry they look for smaller more dynamic backs. Jamyr Gibbs is more the type back theyre looking for now and youre seeing it on the college level. Backs arent bruisers anymore.

Correct but I see a lot of good QBs spend the entire game with somebody in their face. The pass rush in the SEC is much more dominant than I have seen in other leagues.
There is a lot of DL talent. Throw in the WRs seem to be not as good as in recent years and I suppose that’s how the offenses end up looking like this
