What happened to Aggy recruiting?

After posting the greatest recruiting class ever in 2022, Aggy seems to have all but disappeared in 2023.

A&M has zero commits in the Top 50

A&M is the #31 ranked class with zero commits in the Top 50

Aggy fans are freaking out already in fear they’re headed back to the Fran/Sumlin days since most of the top talent has already committed elsewhere..

Aggy fans and Billy Liucci swore they would be back in 2023 to do exactly what they did in 2022…so what happened?

Is it Texas’ recruiting momentum with their eventual move to the SEC?

Is it because other programs have simply caught up with NIL?

Did Jimbo’s famous press conference backfire?

Discuss.

Jimbo looking like a completely unhinged, butthurt maniac for 20 minutes certainly did not help

I love how Nick Saban is the only one who can get away with this

It's almost like they're laying low after Saban blew them up in the national media for buying an entire recruiting class.

It’s definitely been noticeable.

After their whole signing class got called out, the only kid who tried to defend his name simply told Saban to worry about his own wallet

Stunned you started another Aggie topic. Relax, Stephen. It’s July.

Tell that to your own fans…?

Is Aggy at the point where they’re convincing themselves they’re going to flip these Top 50 commits because of the fact they don’t have any?

Texas still has 3 years left in the Big12 and they’re dominating Aggy on the recruiting trail.

Not good for Aggy.

What other programs that had a Top 3 recruiting class last year are not in the Top 30 this year?

In “f-ing July”…?

What other teams are struggling as bad as A&M in recruiting, since it’s just July?

The real answer is everyone else is playing the game with NIL now. Aggy got exposed in the media and has had to slow it down while everyone else could lay low and play catch up.

Saban and Jimbo getting in that pissing match was great for Bama, LSU, OU, and Texas.

Hilarious. Of all the things Saban should be worried about, his "wallet" probably comes in at the very bottom.

I don’t know because I don’t pay any attention to team recruiting rankings in July.

Which players are the aggies in the running for? Is it a lot of the blue chips? A lot of highly regarded individuals?

If so, they will end up fine. Not GOAT ranked like last year, but just fine.

Now, if they aren’t even in the mix with any of the top players, that’s something to be troubled over.

They aren’t.

Which is the point of this thread, and why Aggy fans are freaking out, even if the ones here pretend they’re not.

And now that Jimbo has his foot in his mouth for everyone to see, they can’t just try and throw more money at their obvious problems in hopes of fixing them that way.

I'll give aggy credit for setting up their NIL program fast and locking in their '22 class. But now that others have got on board with paying players, aggy will be back to where they were, because no one really wants to play in College Station. Have you been there?

You know nothing about recruiting if you’re puffing out your chest in July.

This time last year, only 4 out of our top 20 recruits were committed. We had 7 commitments total at this time. We ended up with the greatest class of all time.

We are in the mix for several top 50 recruits. Some are currently uncommitted, some are committed elsewhere. It’s all the same until they sign a LOI.

We can only sign around 20 guys in 2023, so it would have to be extremely elite to sign a top 3 class, but it could still happen.

You should worry about your team and how many recruits they will lose if they go .500 or worse for the 3rd straight year. Don’t print the cups just yet.
