I don't think they pushed him out. He will spend more time calling games with Kirk and was just tired of doing the show after 20 something years.

Reese wanted to expand his scope too. His contract was coming due and ESPN didn't want to lose him so they gave him more rresponsibility

Reece is one of the most unbiased on-air personalities at ESPN. I doubt half those Alabama fans at Gameday realize he graduated from UA.
