I’m sure your fellow Alabama fans, as well as everyone with half a brain, are glad that you’re not making head coach decisions.

I'm sure if LSU hired Napier you'd be stanning the frick out of Napier and shitting on Kelly.

Correct answer, although I think both will do well.

Mullen is a better coach than Napier, he would have taken the field goal and not gone for 2 unnnecessarily

That’s true. And a bit unsettling if you are a Florida fan.

Guess you missed when Mullen went for 2 against Bama and wasted a timeout in the process in the SECCG.

Any time you change an entire coaching staff and have a large influx and departure of transfers, there's going to be some major growing pains.

You have unrealistic expectations.

These are more the expectations of the programs themselves, not mine.

Nobody at LSU thought LSU would lose to any of their first 4 opponents. The loss to FSU is a disappointment.

UF fans thought they'd be 3-1 at worst after their first four games. They're 2-2.

The reality in my book is that Mark Richt at the middle of his coaching career would have hit those expected marks at both programs. I view Mark Richt as a B+ coach. So that makes both Kelly and Napier worse than a B+. So I'm putting them at C-.

I'm not actually surprised at Napier... I don't think he'll succeed in the long run at UF. I did expect better from Kelly though.

Kind of hard to answer this objectively to this point. Napier has had a significantly tougher schedule. We’ll get a better idea around Halloween.

You do realize we've played 3 teams currently ranked in the top 12, right? If anything we were supposed to be 1-3 at this point according to all the experts here.
I guess you had Kirby as subpar in year 1, right? 1 point win over Nicholls State and getting blown out by 5-7 OM?

Kirby did have a C- or worse first year at UGA... until signing day. Then he bumped it up to a B with his recruiting the #3 class in the nation.

The reality is that UF played 4 teams with significantly less talent then them (at least according to all the talent rankings). that's not a great performance. UGA losing to Vandy and Ole Miss in 2016 was similarly poor performances.

The current grade of a coach doesn't mean that's their final grade. It's where they are currently. Right now neither is hitting where you'd expect a B level coach to be considering the talent for each team (#8 in the nation for LSU, #12 for UF). They can turn it around with better performances the rest of the season and in recruiting... but right now they're not better than the Mark Richt line.

….and could easily be 0-4.

BTW, your WB just threw his first TD pass this past weekend.

With all due respect, only idiots thought this. We knew Brian Kelly had a massive rebuild on his hands, not only of a roster, but of a culture, and an organization. He called Ed’s version of LSU football the worst run organization he had ever seen.

LSU is a lot further along than we thought, and is a much better team at this point in the season than any reasonable person predicted.

It’s way too early to give a grade, but if I had to, I would give Brian a solid A.

A lot of LSU fans knew the possibility of losing to FSU was there, they have a coaching staff in place and a lot of talent.

They had a bad record last year but played a lot of close games.

LSU has a depth problem, a lot of new players, and an entirely new coaching staff, there's going to be growing pains.

I mean that's your opinion but it isn't based on any quantifiable factual evidence.

Richt took over an 8-5 Miami team and went 9-4.

Kelly and Napier took over 6-7 teams.

Conclusion based on LSU having less than 34 scholarship players and multiple coaching vacancies. Kelly took over the worst shite show in football (being the LSU program). Napier did roughly the same, but thus far fields a below average team for the talent he has. Fla could easily be 0-4. LSU could not.

So you have no concept of strength of schedule at all?

Yep, we're supposed to be 1-3 according to him. But we're 2-2 so that means Napier sucks.
